Oh, and some ROM's:

Well, since no one has posted this in one place yet, here are some threads on XDA forums that are pertinent to the boot loader, rooting, recoveries and some ROM's:

How to unlock the boot loader:
xda-developers - View Single Post - [RC-FAQ] >> Frequently Asked Questions for Motorola Moto G [Updated : 2013/12/13]

Also, Saptec here on Android Forums post this thread linking to a root method: http://androidforums.com/international-moto-g-all-things-root/800709-can-root-any-computer.html

There was a couple of other posts, but I couldn't find 'em.

Recoveries:

TWRP:
[DEV][RECOVERY] TWRP 2.6.3.0 for Moto G - xda-developers

All credit is due to the folks that started the threads and or did the development work.

Here's a good source of information for tips and tricks and also a good list of ROMs:

Saw you on other forum...Did you get your Moto G yet?
I have one ordered to deliver Monday.
I really want to play with this.

If you're talking to me, no I haven't gotten it yet. Still waiting on all my info so I can finish my taxes. Grrr the slowness of it all.

I think that the recoveries (CWM and TWRP) are mostly ironed out but not 100% sure. It seems as a lot of people are using them though.

Has the recoveries been fixed. I've read about problems.

I have the prepaid one is there a recovery for that?

Verizon pre-paid? No, sorry. That boot loader is locked down tight. Now, the Boost Mobile one can be unlocked. If yours is Boost, head over to the CDMA all things root Moto G sub forum and they can help you with it. I think though, that the boot loader unlock is the same method as the GSM version. I also think the root method works the same.

I read today that clockworkmod recovery is now available officially through ROM Manager. I even went to the site and saw it there, listed under Motorola G. If any of you are using ROM Manager, can you go into it and check for me? I still don't have the G, so can't check.

Never used ROM manger, do I need the paid version of it for that?

No you can use the free version. At the top is where you flash the recovery.

Edit: you do need to be rooted to use RM.

Oh buddy I am always rooted [citation need] but its there just has to show all devices to see it . Also works. makes it easy tho.

But I prefer fastboot flash recovery recovery.img since I am getting used to adb and. Fastboot

Thanks for checking on that. I am planning on using the command line to flash mine as well. It's just nice to know that things are becoming official.
