HTC Incredible Forum

Since Verizon switched it up a bit right before release, do you think it's necessary to rename the "HTC Incredible" Forum to the "HTC Droid Incredible" forum since that's what the phone's actual name is?

Well DROID is just the line of all android phones by verizon. If i were making this decision is would be based solely on SEO and not properness cause anyone in the know seeing Incredible will pick up that is the phone they are looking for regardless of the DROID name in from of it or not.

I would think most people on google are googling info on the "HTC Incredible" so I would leave it as is.

Aside from the Devour, yes.
But, you do make a point about how people are going to be mainly Googling "HTC Incredible" for information and not "HTC Droid Incredible."

LOL caddy you definitely think like a forum owner... I like that.

This is a tough question/issue because we want to remain consistent. We THOUGHT about changing once it was "announced" as the Droid Incredible but then we saw the HTC boxes said "HTC Incredible". It would have REALLY stunk to change it and then change it back.

Keep in mind that when we change a forum we have to 301 redirect everything to a new URL. And then would have to 301 redirect it back. Makes things messy and not too nice for Google spiders.

Then there is the issue of what people will search for and I have a feeling that "HTC Incredible" would be the main keyword. Personally, I'd choose consistency over SEO so the phones section stays organized

You'll notice the phone guide lists it as the HTC Droid Incredible:

In the long run, I just felt that the Incredible Forum was so established and people were so used to where it was and what it was with tons of links coming in that we should just leave it be.

But if the members overrule me on this one I will gladly change it how the members prefer!

I would leave it as is. The name DROID Incredible, while I understand VZW's need to continue a brand image, is [deleted] horribly stupid.

The use around these forums of DROID Incredible, Dinc, DINC and any other derivatives is also annoying as hell and to me personally a step back for the phone. This phone is so much better than anything Motorola could come up with and is its own creature.

Also, the Prequel Trilogy.
