Is the Moto G a decent substitute for the Nexus 4

Really?
Quick background: I was using a Nexus 4 (simply loved it) and had to get rid of it rather quickly as neither AT&T or T-Mobile worked in the area I moved to. Ended up using a Droid 3 for the past few months because of the haste amongst other things.

Anyway, I recently ordered the Moto G and would like to know of any differences. Has anyone used both the Nexus 4 and Moto G. As you can imagine, after being stuck with the Droid 3 for the past few weeks almost anything newer will float my boat. Because of that, I don't want to make a rash decision based on desperation (seriously the Droid 3 has been killing me)- lol. Anyhow, if any of you used both, are there any things missed from the Nexus 4? What are they?

Thanks a lot!

I havent used the Moto G but ive heard its very close to stock android. So much so that people are wondering why they bothered to bring out a Google Play Edition.
Its cheaper than the nexus 4 and i dont know enough about the chips to know if it will be as fast but i think it will give you the same kind of experience

Just so your aware, if you don't mind being 3g only then it's a really decent phone. Only thing I could see is it's 3g only and sound is unbearably low volume. I'm thinking viper4Android will be a fix for that.

I've messed with it and the moto g a few times for a bit when I went into the phone stores, it seems pretty solid.

Since neither phone has LTE the main difference is the Moto G has 1GB less RAM then the Nexus 4, but other then that the Moto G seems like it would be a decent substitute.

In short, no it's not.

But it depends what your usage, if your not a power user and don't need the extra performance in the Nexus 4 or the better camera then the Moto G will be just fine.

It will be a PERFECT substitute. It's fast with the quad core in it. Already has Kit Kat, what's not to love? The phone is freakin $130....

Fast? Are you kidding? It's using Quad Core Cortex A7 which is designed to save battery life at the expense of performance.

It works, the interface is smooth enough and most basic apps/games will run without a hitch but describing the Moto G as fast is just wrong.
