Switching to Verizon soon, which phone to get?

My two front runners are the HTC One n Moto X buy what do you all think?


Coming from Sprint w/ Galaxy S2....... (Hate It)

How soon is soon? The HTC one and galaxy S line should both be seeing a product refresh soon.

If you can hold off a month or so for more information, you may decide its worth the wait

i would say Moto X as here in canada the going to stop selling the One X cause its getting old. Maybe a Nexus 5 you would like

Unfortunately Verizon is the only US carrier the nexus 5 doesn't work on

HTC all the way.

Since my HTC One will be here tomorrow -- and its successor (htc one 2) will be out in a couple months, I would suggest you wait until then. However, if you don't want to wait that long _ the HTC One wouldn't be a bad decision makin at this time. The phone is still as awesome today as it were when it first came out.

Contract is up March 19 w/ Sprint..... I've had the Galaxt SII for 2 years now and haven't been to hapoy with it, as a matter a fact Sprint has replaced it 3 times already so im on my 4th one now, less than impressed for sure but maybe Sprints crappy network and customer service have contributed to that.

Ive kinda looked at the LG G2 but can't seem to gey over the crappy plastic housing and button location.

I'm with the concensus here: go for the HTC but if you can wait, do.

We're getting very close to when new models are due. The point is not just that you could maybe get a better phone, it's also that the price of the current model will start dropping from the moment the new model is announced so you could save quite a few bucks.

Mobile world congress is late Feb. Thats where we'll likely see announcements from the big players for the next cycle of phones.

HTC One is somewhat outdated but still a good device, if you don't mind sacrificing performance, better camera, battery life and other features for the metal case then it's the perfect phone for you.

Thanks for the reply, you mention "sacrificing"......What phone would be your choice out of any available now?

Im looking for something that is going to be quick amd snappy with no to little lag....

Probably the Nexus 5 but that's not an option for you it seems, other devices worth considering right now if available that feature the latest hardware would be the Galaxy Note 3, LG G2, Xperia Z1, Galaxy Round, LG G Flex, Galaxy S4 (i9506 only).

Would probably go with the LG G2 if the Nexus 5 was not an option, not sure about the design but feature wise it's a great device and it has Snapdragon 800 and 13MP camera with Optical image stabilization so it will be fast and will take some decent images.

Just put the phone in case and forget about the plastic, you will spend 99% of the time looking at the display anyway.

Or you could wait a few months, there will be allot of new releases in the next 3 months.

I'd have to disagree with the sacrifice aspect

Its got an incredible camera, and the processor is nothing to scoff at. Its definitely a solid device, even if its coming up on the end of its cycle

It's not an incredible camera at all, it's fairly good in low light levels for a camera phone but it's still only a 4MP camera so the detail is a bit lacking.

Newer devices like the Nexus 5, LG G2 and Galaxy Note 3 all feature optical image stabilization so they also handle low light fairly well and are able to capture more detail, especially in the case of the Galaxy Note 3 and LG G2 which feature 13MP cameras.

I have a Galaxy S4 currently which is a little faster than the HTC One, Snapdragon 600 is still good enough in most cases but that's not the point, when buying a device you want to get the most you can for your money, you want the device to last the full two years without having to ever worry about performance.

I have to lower resolution or drop settings in a few games already so it's not the case snapdragon 600 can handle everything right now maxed out.

Other Than That:

I have narrowed the search down to either the HTC One Vs The Moto X; The LG G2 Is Eliminated.

I did go to the Verizon store and just can't stand the configuration of the center placed rear buttons. + it just seems overloaded/bloated up with crap.

I will be switching around mid to end of March and if no new phones are released which one and why, the HTC One or the Moto X?

Ultimately I will be signing a 2yr contract and really want the phone to last for that time. What about "Call Clarity" which is better?

Although I seemed intrigued on waiting for the new HTC M8 perhaps.....But there are many features I like about the Moto X, it's just tough to get a real feel for a phone in the store.

Both are good, depends on price difference.

If you buy now you will have device envy in a few months time and this has to last you two years.

I've had the HTC One, but you can't beat Motorola for call quality, and reception. Did you consider any phones from the Droid line-up, like the Droid Maxx (insanely good battery life, smooth performance, larger - but not gigantic screen)? I currently have the Moto X and like it a lot. You can customize on Motomaker, which is fun.

Well......actually ended up going with AT&T and got the Moto X yesterday!

How about HTC One M8? its coming soon this year or this month!

Or if you'd like to get one now HTC One M7 isn't a bad choice or if you want stock kit kat experience i'd prefer the Moto X
