Incredible Commercials

Well, considering DROID is now a franchise name, people will flock to Verizon wanting to know more about what "droid does" and now verizon CSR's can offer them a couple phones to suit demands of their customers. Not really any need for new comercial- considering the average consumer wouldn't know what "PUSH" or "Sense UI" is, it would be a waste of air time. The marketing department knows Incredible has all the advertising it needs through the web- and considering HTC will be sold out on day 1-2 I'm pretty sure Verizon didn't fail.

Besides, it has been confirmed that HTC didn't make enough Incredibles for opening day, pre-orders alone have devoured current inventory.

So, it would hurt Verizon really bad if people saw Incredible commercials and flocked to Verizon, only to find out that they were all sold out and had to settle for the MotoDroid... Know what I mean?

yeah I see what you mean....although, if I was verizon, I would put in some time for the next month, or at least until the evo 4g comes out. A lot of people are waiting on that phone, and verizon would be smart to lock up as many contracts as possible. Now since we are an "aesthically pleasing customer base" (at least most of us), some may pass on the Droid based on design alone. I just think it would be smarter for them to at least get the incredible out, and spark up some hype..

Where did you see this? And I'm not talking about the 150,000 unit inventory screen because that can be regional, I'm talking about actual confirmation from HTC/VZW saying they didnt order enough and cannot fulfill additional orders, as that would make no sense for them to release a phone and say they can't sell any because of preorders.

You probably aren't seeing commercials because as you said, they are still airing the Droid. They put alot behind that phone and want to milk it as much as possible. And alot of the newer Droid ads tend to focus heavily on the Android market, which may be a carryover onto the "Droid" Incredible. VZW wants to familiarize people with the Droid branding. I would assume that as soon as the 29th hits, and the phone is available for sale, you will slowly begin seeing ads. Im assuming they don't want to do it too soon as to cannibalize any potential MotoDroid customers (as this phone will become obsolete before the Incredible will be)
