Have downloaded code; now what?

Right click the link where you found that file, and "save as". Put that file on your phone in your Tasker folder and find "Import" in the app
Thanks! :)

I saved the file in my last post to the SD card/ "Tasker" folder. When I tried to Import it the Import function defaulted to "/storage/emulated/0/..." But even if I more to "SD card/Tasker" the xml file doesn't display; and I know it's there, I checked, Using Airdroid/files.

Why does Import default the that folder and should I be putting the xml file there?

Sorry, there are sub folders in the Tasker folder you need to direct to. Forgot about that.

Since you are importing a profile, put the file you saved into /file/path/to/sdcard/Tasker/profiles/

If the folder doesn't exist, create it. You'll need a separate folder for each type of importable file Tasker offers, IE /tasks, /scenes, /projects, and /profiles

I'm confused:thinking:

I just clicked "edit" on this post, to add a screenshot, and got a blank page. In other forum Edit allows the user to correct spelling, revise text or add an image. I didn't get an option to do any of that here. Is there something wrong, or is that the way it works?

I just downloaded a profile from Tasker.Wiki. I know I have to upload the XML file to the Tasker folder on my Nexus; but which folder do I put it in?

Hey Mike,

I merged your post into your previous thread about importing XMLs into Tasker; it kind of sounds like your edit attempt may have glitched out somehow. Feel free to holler (gently ;) ) at me if you've got any forum-related questions :)

On to your question though, was KitWasHere's post any help?

Thinks for linking this up; I didn't f/o on this quickly enough and lost the thread. I'll respond to Kit's answer. As for the "edit" issue; I don't know what was going on; when I clicked it the text field went blank. I'm using FF and sometimes that can be an issue. Should I post issues with the forum, in the forum? Or private, or in the Lounge? I always hate to address forum issue in off topic areas.

Hi Kit...lost track of this thread when I thought I had the answer; that said I usually acknowledge the help

I've been all over the place looking for help with Tasker; Google+ is a nightmare, so I gave up on that. I tried several other forums, but this one seems to be the best. In the process I forgot where I was when I got your answer. I'm going to stick to this one forum in the future.

About your answer: there is no ...Tasker/profiles folder. Should I just create one and put the files in it?

I'm always a little nervous about messing with the filing system in my phone; but I guess it's no different that the HHD on my computer.
