After the many updates to the optimus F3, My sister was unable to use her phone because of a lack of space. She allowed to attempt to root it, I was unsuccessful the first couple times. However, I found a new root method working for (at least) the T-mobile version of the Optimus F3! Download Bin4ry root from here xda-developers thread =1886460
And then run the Runme.bat file, use 0 ( Xperia root method) everything will do its thing and then the phone will reboot and all you have to do is install the SuperSU binary and you have root! If this does not work, try doing a factory reset and then following the process again.

Not that I'm an expert in rooting or hacking, however, I was able to root the F3 in 5 seconds with Kingo. It did take me a couple of hours to partition an SD card, however, it turned out to be SD card issue. After I formatted it properly with SDFormatter, it worked flawlessly.

Hnnng I had to make an account to thank you. I've been messing around with this thing trying to root it for the past 5 hours and all I could find was motochopper which didn't work.

Kingo did it first try. I was just about to give up hope. Now I wont be stuck with 2GB of internal storage.

IIRC, unlocking phones by yourself is illegal in the US due to a law passed a couple of years ago. Don't quote me on that, but it's something you'll have to call your service provider and ask them to unlock it for you.

Correct for the most part, the law took effect January 26th of 2013 that prevents the sim unlocking of phones purchased after that day done so without approval of the carrier it's locked to.
