Tell me the time

struggling to find an app that will do what I want.

I need an app to tell me the time at five minute intervals between 5:00 and 5:20 pm every day.

I am a commuter - I walk from my office to my train - takes from 15-25 minutes depending on traffic, pace, stupid people...you get the idea.

The thing is I never know how well I'm doing until I get there. It is brutally cold in Chicago right now and so taking the phone out or even pushing a button on my bluetooth headset is out of the question.

If it were just the time that I needed I found Android Alarm to do the trick but I'm also listening to music or podcasts and I don't want them to be interrupted while the system reads me the time.

Help?

This will seem like a strange recommendation, but it might be what you need.

I use it to track my exercise, including capturing my bicycle trips in real time. In settings->exercise tracking->voice output settings, you can have it notify you ever 5 minutes. I've never tried that as I have it set to notify me ever mile. It won't tell you the time, but if you know when you start it, you just add to that.

You would probably have to start a workout by going into the logbook, , then log today's exercise, click the + and then click start workout and walking. Edit: if you do walking, that probably turns on your gps and will use battery. If you do treadmill walk, it shouldn't use the GPS, you just won't know the distance you walked that way.

I know it's got some tools to listen to music, so it might have a setting to not screw up the music you are listening to. It looks like you can set the notification volume, so that might give you what you need.
