Root [ROM][BETA][4.2.2] AOKP Jelly Bean for Virgin Mobile and Sprint 5/2/2014

Just downloaded and installed. Sleipnir was very nice but this ROM's even faster and smoother. GPS lock on was very fast whereas Sleipnir was slower to lock on and had issues occasionally. One bug I've noticed is that Google Maps flickers quite badly (already noted in OP).

Edit: not sure if this is a bug, but I cannot see my Google albums in the Gallery app. Was able to do this in Sleipnir. I suppose one could use Google+ but the interface is clunky.

Everything seems to be running smooth except for the occasional rebooting, I'm going to try a fresh wipe install next to see if that eliminates some of that.. Is anyone else getting occasional reboots?
Also what are the odds of getting the Google maps issue resolved? The maps is a daily use app for me & very necessary part of my phone... Is it being looked into? Just curious

I tried to get rid of it too but I think you need to install a different launcher...

I still can't get contacts to sync. I wiped data and installed the latest update but only have 6 contacts listed. Any ideas?

maybe its some sort of bug? i cannot get my calendar to sync. in its settings it shows my account listed, but under accounts to sync, there is nothing. and i cannot figure out how to add my account to it.

Using an older version of maps fixes the problem

I recommend using this Google maps version until I fix the issue with the latest versions. It seems to fix the issues.

A clean flash might help, but first (just an idea), make sure you have auto-sync on through the data usage tab in settings? Not really my area of expertise, so I have no 'solution'. Lol. A clean flash is always a good idea though. Dirty flashing just isn't as good of an idea as it sounds (double entendre intended).

Also, thank you Dark One for your maps link. Anyone still having issues with maps flickering should download that. I updated from play store after installing that and it fixed the flickering in the newest update. :)

It is checked to auto-sync. Went I click "accounts" in the contacts app I only get my facebook account displayed. Shouldn't it have my Google account as well?

I would think so. Go under settings and try adding your account again? If you dirty flashed, it may be picking up some remnants of some previous file. (BTW, I don't have a 'Contacts' app. I think it should be 'People' in this ROM, unless that's what you meant. Trying to make sure details are right.)

When I go to Accounts->Google->my account I see "People details." Its checked. I tried unchecking and checking it again but it doesn't help.

If I open the People app and click the add button it displays "Your new contact won't be backed up. Add an account that backs up contacts online?"

It then goes to set up an Exchange account. I tried entering my gamil info but it just gives an error.

Thanks for the link. This version doesn't have issues with flickering. One bug in Navigation though: "speak destination' results in 'Unfortunately, Maps has stopped' and crashes the app. No problem if you type in the destination though. Anyone else see this? Maps automatically updated to latest version (no flickering!) but it still gives the same error message. Fortunately it doesn't crash the app now. Installing Maps directly from the Play store didn't have this issue (but obviously had the flickering issue).

I reinstalled everything and it still will not sync contacts. I don't even have an option for it in the setting. No accounts are displayed under the "People" app.

I deleted the contacts data - it didn't help. I removed my account and added it again - didn't help.

I have to go back to 4.1 because I can't really use my phone without any working contacts.
