Root [Boost Mobile] [ROM] Warp OEM 2.70

Thank you, glad you're enjoying it!

I'm not sure that you'd need a specific ROM to do what you're looking for there. What's stopping one from using those apps on any ROM to accomplish that goal?

There is no reason I can't. I was just curious if there was a ROM that streamlined not having a provider. Is there a way to remove the normal call button and replace with Google Voice or replace texting with Google Voice?

Sure, you should be able to just tap-and-hold on one of the buttons at the bottom of FTL and select a new activity to associate with it. I believe you can pretty much put any application you want there.

Just made another nandroid of this several days ago, with the new power nap Merc made for it. Great Rom indeed, I flash back to it all the time.

On a side note, have you tried skinny halo? I am testing it now. :)

yeah, I've tried them all. Too many things not working right, one thing or another. Gotta give it Skinny, he's hard at work though

I was trying to install BusyBox on my warp n860 that is running this rom, and it gives me error message that BB is not compatible with the ROM.
Would it be possible to add a patch or something to correct this ?

BTW I'd/l'd my copy of BusyBox from Google Play Store. I think it was BusyBox Installer.

This site is absolutely great and I love it !!!

This ROM already has busybox installed. To verify use terminal emulator, type busybox. you should get a list of commands. If you get a permission denied error, su then busybox... But trust me, it's in system/xbin

Yep, I can corroborate that. It is in fact already installed.

I finally rooted my phone. I am enjoying the new OS , blazing fast speed and now I can tether!

But I'm having a problem with Bluetooth ... I use a Moga Power A gamepad with my emulators but now I can't get it to connect with the universal driver. It will connect thru moga pivot, but pivot doesn't allow emulators... both moga programs have super user access and everything else seems to work just fine.

And this worked on the stock ROM?? That's amazing, I could never get any gamepads or keyboards to work with any of my Warps.

Yes....paired and connected quickly.... eventually the phone would reset though (probably because of the stock ROM)...and no analog support.... henceforth my reason to root...

But after the root I can't get it to work... I didn't have to do anything special... just turn it on and activate universal driver... now my research shows that there is an A and a B mode... maybe I should find a moga forum?

I was just hoping someone would say I forgot to click something.

Anyway the Moga power A DOES work without root (8 way D pad only.... no analog).

Other than that I'm happy with this ROM, and I'm ready to try a few others!!!

Well thank you for the input! I never even knew this phone could support this type of thing. Who knows? Maybe I can patch WOEM 3.0 and make this work.

It worked before I flashed OEM (with no analog support though)

Thinking back now... IIRC i read online that using moga with rooted device only works on Android 3.0 but the virtual keyboard mode works without root on android 2.3.5.
Using the universal driver....moga pivot app worked as well.

So this is probably the problem...unless...were there any drastic changes concerning Bluetooth?

But I have another problem now... I rooted the phone using easy root.zip and have cwm installed. I ended up having to wipe data and factory reset warp OEM thru cwm recovery...now my root access is gone...

I'm ready to try new roms so...

do I run the easyroot zip again to regain root access?

Root should be "active" when flashing a new rom correct?

And I am to wipe/factory reset and clear cache BEFORE I flash a new ROM from zip?

Yeah, go ahead and run easyroot again, just to be sure your rooted, then proceed to factory data reset, clear both caches, flash rom. reboot.:D Should be good to go after that.:)

By all means, if you can donate to any of their pay pal links then for sure do it. :D

DM Likes Jaegermeister!! Send him a pint or two:)

Forgive me for this Possibly being out of place...

In my earlier posts i was referring to a gamepad for android. I was able to retrace my steps as to what happened long ago.

Before i bought the Moga Pocket, i used an off brand wii remote.

I purchased this knock off item in my haste after seeing a friend using an official wii product.

Then i found out that It was to the understanding of many ppl that off brand wii remotes won't work, but after much Google-ing i found some a Bluetooth app from Google Japan that somehow connected to the off brand wii remote.

I also had to download a wii HID enabler and then finally a controller app. Then i ran the wii controller app, configured settings, activated Bluetooth just like any other Bluetooth device, sync and pair, but when it asked for a 4 digit password, i left it blank and hit cancel instead of ''leaving it blank and hitting ok'' like many online guides said. After trying this a few times i put the phone down in frustration ...

And voila!!! ON A STOCK ROM!!!

no analog, but good enough for me at the time!

then came the Moga pocket! I had minimal trouble pairing probably because i didn't remove any of the above stated .

I thought this had something to do with the fact i flashed warp OEM...or that i am a noob... so i tried noob ROM (which was also very sexy)...

but now I'm sure why!

i went back to stock with the info provided on this site.

I had the exact same problems until i repeated the above Process (minus downloading all the wii stuff... so just the waka Bluetooth and Moga universal drivers... my wii mote has died) and now Moga works again.

I'm going to go re root and then get my warp OEM back! I'm pretty sure it will work the same way.

The Bluetooth app is waka Bluetooth pair by Fixa. It's completely in Japanese but there's only a button or two.

I do apologize for rambling and possibly posting out of place.

I'll go sit in my corner now (with my super slick OEM ROM) XD

I certainly will donate soon!
