Look, I agree with most of the posters above. When you have a smart phone, it's doing way more than making calls. The more you do, the more the battery will run down.

Just be glad you aren't waiting on the 4G iphone. I just talked to my Verizon rep and he said that in a test market, they downloaded a movie in 3 minutes (not on an iphone obviously). However, it pretty much drained the battery.

Agreeing with the above posts (this is my first Droid, but I've had HTC WinMo smartphones for the last 5 years). Smartphones, plain and simple, aren't your old flip phones that you can charge every few days. If you can get up in the morning, take it off the charger, and have it make it through till you put it back on the charger when you go to bed, that's perfectly acceptable in my book. And it seems that's about what my Incredible will be like batterywise.

Otherwise, as others have mentioned: one of the nice features of any HTC phone (as opposed to an iCantWalkAndChewGumAtTheSameTimePhone) s that you can pull the battery. If you use your phone so much that the stock battery doesn't get you through the day, just buy another battery. Not necessarily an extended life one... just another one. Carry it with you. You've just doubled your battery life.

That is good news. I am still not sold on Seidio. I read an article that there was a study showing that the stated mAh is not what the tested mAh is.

For those of us not willing to buy a 3rd party battery we can get the stock battery for the Touch Pro 2. It is rated at 1500 mAh and would give you about 15% more battery than the current battery.

Right now I think I am doing well with the battery but in about a 8 months to a year when I need to replace the battery that may be a good option.

i'm familiar with that article. but my own experience with that battery and my htc tp2 has been good. i noticed a marked difference between stock and the seidio.

BAttery life is a major issue on this phone! Got the Seidio cause I figured as much - the Droid Eris users were complaining all the time and that phone wasn't even as fast!

The battery on my Droid lasts longer now than it did at first. I do about 45 mins + of web browsing a day on 3G, talk, text and mess around with apps, and I get home with at least 70% of the battery left. That's accounting from 7AM until 5PM. Not bad at all.

i'm not running wifi, bluetooth or GPS, but I left it unplugged before i went to sleep last night at 1 am. I've done an hour of talking, 50 or 60 texts, downloaded some apps and browsed the internet since then and i'm at about 40% at 6:30pm.

Just a thought, but maybe the OEM batteries that shipped with all these Incredibles are inconsistent in regards to quality control & manufacture. Could be there are some duds, & some stellar performers...

5.5 hrs uptime with normal usage, some emails and calling, BT and gps on. 70% left on stock battery. Just depends on too many variables. How you set up settings and signal makes a big difference. I've had the phone for a couple of days.

I've had good luck with Seidio batteries on WM phones. What's nice is a higher capacity battery means that the phone draws a lower percentage of the battery's capacity at a time. Batteries can always supply more power overall when the drain rate is low as opposed to high. Meaning, draw juice faster than the rating from a 1000mah battery and you may only get 700mah out of it before it dies. Drain it slow and it will allow all 1000mah. Since a higher capacity battery has more or bigger cells, each cell is stressed less by the device. It's an added benefit to having cells with more capacity.

Got home from bar about 1am, and tried to drain it by watching porn with GPS, 3g, wifi, all running. Couldn't get it to go past about 20%, so I just plugged it in.

Today. Got up at 8, played with it some, then went to school to do work. Had banh mi with a friend for lunch and he is a tech geek so we oogled for a solid hour. Left the 3G on starting at about 11. Played a lot at coffee after that browsing the net. Just got home and its sitting at about 60%.

Maybe I got a freakishly good battery? EV/IO has been below 7db both times Ive checked. (Oh and I leave bluetooth on so it pairs with car radio.) I have no animations set and no live wallpaper (maybe it makes a big diff). Handcent as well.

thats the problem right there, something that is mass produced is always bound to have units that dont match up to expectations. especially a battery since the cells could be different from eachother.

I got my DI this morning, charged it up and activated it. I am coming from an Eris, so I changed all the settings to match what I did on my Eris using the battery tips in the stickied thread in the Eris forum. I have been using it quite a lot today as I try to download apps and change everything to have it my way. It has been powered on 8 and 1/2 hours according to the Battery menu. My battery is currently at 82%.

When I first got my Eris, the battery drained like mad, until I learned how to tweak things to meet my needs but not be the most battery intensive. I do not have everything disabled on my phone - I am using it - but just turn off the things I don't need. I have no issued plugging in every night, it appears this will easily last me through a whole day - so I don't see a battery issue here for me.

Check the screen brightness, try to keep it down around 20-30% and don't use auto adjusting. I use google nav for 2 hours a day with pandora streaming, make/take about 90 minutes of calls, multiple emails/texts/gtalk and spend anywhere from 20 to 45 minutes browsing the web and using apps. All this over the course of 10 hours daily and my battery is always at 40-20% when I get home. This is on a overclocked (1.2ghz) droid.

I have had mine for about a day and a half now. I had to order a new one because of dust or something under the screen, but I noticed the screen brightness and auto-adjust is the battery killer. I set my screen to 20% wit Quick Settings (Great Program) and watched 30 min of a movie at the gym, and streamed Pandora for a half hour home. Still have about 65% battery. With that being said I will purchase an extended life battery.

Agreed with most here .... the battery could use an upgrade. Did not overwork mine today, and I got a 15% battery low warning 4pm'ish ... I think I'm going to get the extended battery for sure, but something stronger than 1500mah.

Face it folks ... this phone does a lot more than your old Razr used to do!
