Help S Pen unfortunately, Action Memo has stopped

Every time I try to use the Action Memo I get an error "Unfortunately, Action Memo has stopped." I also can not use the s pen for texting since only the keyboard shows and no box to write. Please help.

It would help if you could state your country/carrier/handset, to see if there are any issues with this.
The Note 3 comes in a few different configurations and carrier software could be an issue.

It's under warranty. Bring it to a Sprint store and ask them to please fix it (be nice - they didn't design the phone - and they have enough customers who think that paying for a phone means you own the people who sell it). If they can't, ask them to please replace it.

(Make sure every byte of data that you could conceivably ever want in the future is backed up - they might reflash the phone as a first resort, and that will wipe all your data, apps, pictures, notes, etc.)

Same thing happened to me with the Action Memo right after the Kit Kat update. I tried all kinds of things, but it still won't work. It gives me the same error message if I try to open a new memo or an existing one.

Eventually I gave up and installed Papyrus instead. Works great.

As for texting with the S-Pen, you can only use it to click on the keyboard. Texting requires text input, not graphics. That is because other phones are limited to displaying text. If you want your Note to recognize your handwriting and convert it to text, I don't know if that is possible but, if so, it would require some OCR utility to do so.

If you're trying to find out how to convert handwriting into text while you write it with the S Pen then click the web link below.

After the latest os upgrade I contacted support via chat for the "unfortunately, action memo stopped" issue and the tech said "sorry to hear that", unbelievable, give me an answer not a remark! After going through the typical bull, the only answer was to factory reset which i already considered. After the headaches of backing up and restoring, all works fine. Typical...

If you're using the Samsung keyboard long press on the mic then click the icon that looks like the letter *T*.... That's you're texting right there. Now you can use the s-pen & write on the screen just as you would pen & paper.
