I let my battery run down and then while charging I tried to turn the phone back on but it kept going from the white HTC screen to the black VZW screen and back. I tried a battery pull but it continued to do it, even while plugged in. I did another battery pull and now it is charging. Any ideas?

There are a few threads RANDOM REBOOTS floating around seems to be an issue with signal quality being very low or none then a reboot. Happened to me once so far as I cross my fingers
I know, but i'm in the same place I have been all day. Same signal. This is the first time this has happened and only after I let the battery die.

This phone requires quite a bit of energy to run. So if u let it die and then put it on the charger and then turn it on all its going to do is go into a boot loop. U have to let it charge back up that's all it is its just a dead battery and there is not enough energy to make it through the boot process that's all.
I sure hope you are right. How long should I let it charge until I try to turn it back on?

I have had mine since Tuesday, with no reboots, until this morning.

Phone was charging all night, got up at 7 am, and hit the power button. Screen came on, and the location warning screen was displayed, indicating it had rebooted during the night. I went to "Settings"--->"Phone"--->"Battery"--->"What has Been Using Battery", and found that the up time was 2 hours, 20 minutes, indicating that it had rebooted about 4:30 am.

If you let the battery completely drain then yes you will need to let it charge for about 30 minutes ON A WALL OUTLET before powering it back up. Don't even bother using a PC/USB to charge it if your in this situation. Corrupt SD cards can also cause boot loops, just pull the card and get a adapter for your PC so you can format it.

I started another thread on this in error, but I have had 20+ reboots in less than 24 hours, several occurred back to back!

My first one occurred right after a CSR had me do a battery pull while setting up my exchange email 10 minutes after I opened the box. This is obviously a wide spread issue, most likely a bad batch.

Guess I will be going to VZW today to swap it out! Otherwise this phone is AWESOME!

Took my phone back to the store yesterday for a replacement. The manager said that HTC and Verizon are aware of the power-cycling problem. The replacement phone I got worked great last night but has power-cycled 3 times this morning...twice while just lying on my desk and once while i was using the photo app. Last night I was connected to my wifi and had no issues. Today I am at work and using 3g.

Winston Salem VZW said that it has something to do with the local switching from tower to tower.

They said it won't do any good to trade it for another phone because it's just going to do the same thing.

Doesn't sound good at all.

I'm @ work in Durham now and it hasn't happened. That is probably why. Makes sense I live in a rural area and when the phone tried to triangulate my location it went spastic in Google Maps!

When I was driving west on I-85 from Graham to Durham it reset 6 times!
