Hello,

I reinstalled Kies as I was having problems. Everything is working now apart from when I have the device attached, Kies open and select sync. I choose all items to sync but then get an error message :

" Notification

The contact's Google account for web syncing is identical to the Google account set in the device. Synchronisation cannot proceed. "

Can anyone help with how to solve this?

Many thanks,

Greggles.

Eek, what model?! The Galaxy S2 19100, no modifications, using a sim on the Virgin Mobile network. If you don't use Kies what do you use? Would be happy to know of something that syncs seamlessly with Google / or something else, so as all my stuff on the phone is safely backed up somewhere : ) . If you move my question can you tell me where to? Many thanks for your swift response.

Greggles.

Your phone already syncs automatically to Google without need for intervention of a program like Kies. Kies can't touch the Google contacts on the phone because it may cause double entries and such. If its already set to Google on your phone, simply having the phone connected to the internet via WiFi or whatever means syncs the contacts to Google.

Well, if my phone is already synched to google, how do I backup and restore my phone? I've already done a hard reset, and the backup I created now resides in the Kies software. I must get that info back into my phone!
Not having my info at hand has affected my job and personal life enormously.

As soon as you input your Google account into the phone after you reset, it should download your synced contacts automatically. Of course you have to be connected to the internet for that.

Yes. You can go to Google Contacts.
How do I go to Google Contacts? Is this a feature of my gmail account?
UPDATE: Okay, I'm in Google contacts, but this is not all of my info. Some info had been transferred to Google contacts, but this certainly isn't all of it. What's left is being held hostage by that $@&*%^# Kies software! This has been EXTREMELY detrimental to my life.
How do I get my information out of the demonic Kies software???
