Help Playing H.264 *mp4 Videos

Has anyone got this to work?
Do you use handbrake?

I've gotten the ffmpeg4 but not the H.264 videos to work. I just get a black screen with the audio coming through... Any suggestions?
I'm running H.264 videos on the Incredible with no issues. I used DVDFab to convert the movies. How many fps are your videos? I had the same black screen and audio issues (on Eris) running h.264 videos at 30 fps. When I changed to 23.9 fps. it worked fine.

Okay I did this last night and put good ole Boondock Saints 2 on the SD and it played perfectly using the built in player... Heres my steps to hopefully help someone else...

1. Grab Any DVD Converter Pro
2. Open up the Program
3. Click Add Video and find the movie that you want to add...
4. Change Profiles up in the top right corner to "Nexus One" profile which is PERFECT for the Incredible....
5. Click Convert and wait it out...
6. Drag it on your SD card and us the default media gallery to find it or use Astro which is free in market place :)

ENJOY my Droid Brothers!

This is good to know. Thanks!

FWIW, I haven't tried converting any movies yet but I copied one of my movies from my ipod touch (had used handbrake to encode) onto the SD card and it plays no problem. I did notice, however, a sync issue where the audio slightly lags the video.

Go to pictures and they are listed as videos there.

Ok, I created a Media folder and put it on my phone. In that folder, I have 2 other folders, Audio and Video. The audio folder is where I put my ringtones and that worked as far as ringtones but the .avi file I put in Video is not working.

Just move the .avi file to where my pics are stored and that will work?

it does not do avi playback it must be in a different format like .mp4 and then it will find it on your device.... that is why we are providing directions on how to convert to the appropriate playback file type.
