.::Droid Incredible Lounge::.

I've waited patiently for April 29 to arrive. Here it was and I was in my Verizon store getting my new HTC Incredible!!!! Took it home and plugged it in. Decided while waiting for it to charge to go mow. Picked up my Incredible about 8:30 and started to play with it. Love it already. Put on the protective sheet and working to get three bubbles out. Kept trying and trying. Well pulled the sheet back and the three bubbles were not air bubbles but bubbles in/under my screen. Have to return for an exchange today )-: So disappointed because I was having fun learning and playing with it last night. Oh darn. Also can someone on here tell me how to get the sicky white residue off the protective sheet before I put it on my phone. Thank you

Stock app(s) installed on the ROM- can only remove w/ root

If you can upgrade 3/28/11, that puts your contract end date at 7/28/11 since you can upgrade 4 months early, which means you originally signed your contract and upgraded on 7/28/09, so your 1 year date would be 7/2/10

They should sync to your Gmail account

See ^^

As mentioned before, in music, set as ringtone, then edit ringtone to use Ringtone Trimmer

As mentioned before, N will be activated with a future SW update

Sure- Messages->Settings

PS. 200th post!!!!!!! Now to catch Steven58...... :p

So how do you do MESSAGES then SETTINGS? When I hit messages, I get my messages, no settings option. When I go to settings options there is no message section or alert or notification (other than the general one.... no way to pick Text, VM, etc)... There HAS to be a way to set different alert sounds for each type of message...

Same exact thing happened to me at BB. BB price is $599 and they refused to price-match it. I called the 800- BESTBUY number, spoke to a great rep who called the store, spoke to them, and, long story short, got them to match the $529 price. They were NOT happy about it though. I had $100 in gift cards and $75 in Reward Zone dollars. I am starting to dislike Best Buy. It seems like since Circuit City colsed a few years back, the reps attitudes have gone in the crapper. I shouldn't have to sacrifice my first born and a snickers bar to get a product from them. We're supposed to be in a recession, why cant they hire people that have better attitudes and some common sense? Unbelievable! I thought I was the only one that this happened to.

FYI Circuit City closed just last year...

[EDIT] In Ohio anyways... didn't know the rest of the world was so far ahead of us hahaha

Just found this line in a Wall Street Journal interview with Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen responding to Job's recent comments about Flash. It may be a misspoken line or he may be referring to the Incredible but it could also mean that Froyo is coming sooner than expected.

"Mr. Narayen talks about Adobe "certainly" shipping on Android's latest version in early May."

It's in the "11:45 am" segment of the interview recap.

Amidst hearing about all of the shipping delays and depletions of stock I decided to call yesterday instead of go online and see about getting the Incredible. I recently (beginning of January this year) extended my contract for another 2 years (NE2 discount pricing etc) and go the HTC Eris. Thought it was the shizz until 2.1 was observed, thus making the Eris = FAIL. Consequently I was fuming over the fact that they were discontinuing the phone for the Incredible which was releasing and here I was just upgraded and without that card in my deck. I was prepared to pay retail. Sold the eris for $200, used an old LG VX5200 as my phone until I had my precious beauty in my hand. Called to see about cancelling my contract, paying the $155 ETF ($175 - $5/month x 4 months) and starting a new contract. I openly explained and discussed this plan with the CSR. She was fine with that, and politely checked to see if I was eligible for an early upgrade. I thought, yeah, okay, I have had this new plan for 4 months and you think I can upgrade? Dream on. Well she comes back saying that I am eligible. HUH? HOW? WHY? I did not bother with these trivial questions as they may have possibly thrown my chances at this incredible incident to the wind. I calmly said cool, I would rather do that than cancel and re-sign. So we went through the process, everything went smoothly. Phone was $249.99 (special pricing??) before the $100 mail in rebate. I used the SMART30 code and received an additional $30 off. Ending my novel, I basically made money off of buying the Incredible ($249.99- $30 code - $100 MIR - $200 profit from Eris)... the only thing that sucks is that I have to wait until Monday before my phone will get here (can't believe that it shipped even though shipping was reported to be on hold until May 4th, and now May 7th)!!!!

Love the phone and would never trade it but:
wish the trackpad could wake up or unlock the phone which i'm sure could be possible as the power button is hard to reach.
Signal has been 1 step lower than my omnia...not bad, just one step worse
No quick way to navigate to contacts at the end of my contact list without scrolling.
Love the screen but holly crap fingerprints
battery is less than stellar so far

I'm having a lot of fun playing with ringtones. Is there a safe place to find the following TV theme songs: Seinfeld, Simpsons, and Lost (does Lost even have a theme song?). I am leery of going to some websites to download music. Afraid of viruses. Can you steer me to a safe place to download this music? Thanks. Tomorrow I'll tackle changing my screens.

By the way, someone asked a while back about a paper user's manual. There's a phone number in the Quick Start guide inside front cover to call to have one mailed to you.

i really like this free one - Mabilo Ringtones. Check it out tru Android Market

This should be proof for the folks that didn't get the card originally.

I like how the screen only rotates to the left side

Now when I lay in bed and browse the web or do messages I don't have to worry about it rotating on me

Yea, it's nice, but I've had an LG Voyager and then Env Touch for the past 2 years. Both of those phones make you rotate it to the right (clockwise) so you can access the physical keyboard. Now this one only rotates to the left (counter clockwise). I'm having to retrain myself. lol:):D

I just installed OS Manager and had a few questions. I'm getting 150-180M of available memory with a few apps running. Is this consistant with everyone else? Also, what is /system? Is it the OS? What about /data? I see 765,992K total, but I thought we only had 512M ROM for apps?

~250M - OS
~200M - cache
~512M for app storage (the max now?)

= ~1G

But we have 512 ROM and the phone says 748MB Total space...

Is the OS and cache 8G internal memory?

When to the store yesterday to check the phone out and all I could think of was wow. Wow in the sense that the phone feels and looks totally different than what it looks like in videos and pics. Im surprised no on has said this yet. To be honest with you I liked what the phone offers but the screen is just to narrow. Ohh did anyone see the pic and video samples of the Nokia N8. HOLY SHIT!!! That thing takes better pics than my point and shoot. Id love to see the faces on the people that said phone cameras will never get to that point

-Agree with the trackpad.
-Think the difference in signal is software as dB are same b/t the DI and my old Storm, wifes old LG and her new Palm.

Has anyone noticed the two small lenses just to the left of the Verizon checkmark? Upon closer inspection the far one appears to be a lens for a camera. The near one appears to be an LED of some sort. I can't find anything on a video phone application but that's all I can think it would be for. Several of my cohorts believe it to be a government subsidized product and believe it is for spying covertly. I think they are crazy. Could be an alien brain scanner though.:D

I'm glad to hear of your great customer experience. I know a lot of people have had gripes but it doesn't always turn out bad. I also had a good experience since they moved up my annual upgrade and they also gave me that extra 50 of for some reason. I phone ordered yeterday morning and my fedex delivery date said may 3rd. To my suprise the phone is out for delivery this morning and am patiently waiting for it. 24 hour turn around time. Hope you get it sooner to. I just want to let people know that my experience with verizon was great.

LOL. I wonder if it really is a camera? I think one of the 2 to the left of the Verizon symbol is a proximity sensor which is probably used to quiet ringer when turned over and shut off screen when you put phone to ear.
