Internal Memory problem

My problem is that I know when you plug the phone into your computer two drives are supposed to show up. One for the SD card and one for the internal. However only the SD card pops up for me but in the settings it says 6.60gb space for the internal.

I love the phone but what could be wrong?

Are you sure the internal memory is supposed to be mountable? That seems like it would cause drive access conflicts between the phone and the computer.

I know they are different phones, but the Droid's internal memory does not mount to the computer. Unless there is a separate partition on the Incredible's ROM for storage I don't think Android OS could share the ROM with Windows

yep just my 4gb sd card

I was having that issue last night. I had to switch the data cable mode to charge only, then switch it back to try to get it to show up.

However, I am not sure how the folders that show up when it mounts correlates to what is shown in Astro File manager, all I see is the linux file structure there.

I can still format the internal but I still cant see it in my computer.

Does anyone know what the folder is called leading to the internal space so i can see if it is accessible with the astro browser?

in the root directory, the folder is called "emmc" thats what shows up on the computer

Under the connect to PC settings. I have it set to connection type disk drive

Then there is an option to Unmount SD Card and Unmount Phone Storage

Try unmounting the phone storage.

Somehow I just fixed it lol. Did nothing differently and it finally showed up thank god. I was beginning to think it was somehow corrupted but thanks for the help guys

Are you using HTC sync or software? I think this is the only way to see the onboard memory on the computer.

Might be a mac thing, but my macbook shows both drives as well.

Mine shows 6.6GB of storage for the Internal as well, plus the 16GB for the SD card on a Windows 7 Ultimate PC

In Astro File Manager on the incredible look in /emmc and that will be the contents of the internal 8gig. When the phone is mounted the internal flash does show up on the pc as a normal removable drive. Just look in disk manager to be sure you are not getting a drive letter conflict.

Nah...you should be able to see both the internal memory and the SD card as separate drives if you connect with the "disc drives" option. You don't need any software for that.

BTW...the phone will still charge in this mode.
