Help migrate everything from S3 to S5?

I moved the SD card over with all my pictures and music. When I first turned the phone on and logged into my gmail account and WIFI, the phone automatically downloaded and installed all of my same apps and of course the phone book. All I had to do was change my wallpaper and move some shortcuts around and I was up and running.

I was very pleasantly surprised with the same experience, even from a Skyrocket to the G5. I had even downloaded an app to inventory and then reload my apps but it wasn't needed. Is that great or what!!

I use my backup pro (there is a free version). I've used my backup since the first Motorola droid came out.

Its a great app because you you can keep personal data separately from application and setting data, and you can choose between cloud or sdcard storage.

It also has a schedule feature. My phone data backs up automatically once a week.

Did this migrating two S3s to S5s.

Used Samsung Kies to migrate as much as it can - which included the text message and phone logs.

The new S5 automatically re-loaded all of the apps from the App Store.

Then with both the S3 and S5 phones connected via WiFi and running the Helium Premium - was able to migrate most of the data for the apps over WiFi. NOTE that Helium would periodically stop when trying to transfer settings for many apps at the same time; was able to repeatedly restart the app data transfers - until all of the app data was migrated.

This sequence did not migrate the mail account settings (which is probably reasonable - as a security feature) - and some of the account data in a few of the apps had to be re-entered.

But overall - this process went pretty quickly - and had my new S5 up and running with everything within a few hours.

Okay, so I need to migrate stuff from my S5 to a replacement S5, and kies only does some things, but not apps. I have moved most of my app or rather app data to SD, so when I move it to the new phone, will that data mesh up again when I install the apps again? I wish it was like apple in a way, where EVERYTHING just went from one to another, like mirroring.

Can you tell me exactly how to do this please? My partner moved all apps from S3 to SD card then installed SD card into new S5. All contacts etc were carried over to new phone but he can't figure out how to get apps from SD card to new phone - please can you help?

Thanks

After the S5 came out, I used a combination of Kies to move the phone's data (including the text messages) and Helium to move the app data.

There may have been a few apps that didn't move account data (such as mail) - which had to be re-entered after the move.

Wasn't able to get everything moved with a single app. Though by now, there may be something better that does work.
