Root Before I buy an X2...

Hey, just wanted to talk to some people who own a rooted and ROM'd X2, to see how good the phone is...

Best ROM, taking notice to performance, app capabilities, and overall goodness?

I don't plan on activating it. So can I use it on wi-fi only? Or do I have to have a SIM card in it? What's the info on that?

I think those will be my only questions for now.

You can turn on airplane mode and then turn on your wifi. I am using the liberty rom and would suggest it to anyone. Yes im rooted and use the 2nd init. It is my favorite device.
And i have no sim card.

The droid x2 has no sim card slot
It's ok device never got much dev support.
Even the droid x has cm11/kitkat now.

Great, what about speed of the processor? Does it ever have any problems?

Its a 1000 dual core. I've never complained of its speed. Its a smooth device processor wise. the data is still 3g but it doesn't seem slow at all. I did debloat it And it will work on pageplus. The only complaint I have is I don't like to hook it to the pc, because Verizon has left its Droid manager that uploads a little software that I don't need but its no big problem I just erase it on the pc when I get around to it. just curious how much are they selling them for now.

I would be buying it for around $50 - $60. Also, I'm upgrading from an LG Optimus V so compared to that I'm gonna be blown away from what I hear.
