Help No Chase Quick Deposit on S5?

(The problem to which I'm referring in only a problem on the Samsung Galaxy S5. It is *not* related to problems with taking the check photos on the S4 or other devices.)

Having said that....

I recently changed carriers and upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy S5 from the S4, which I loved. On the S4, I had no problems finding and using the Quick Deposit feature on the Chase Mobile App. On the S5, after downloading the same app, there doesn't even appear to be a Quick Deposit feature. If there is, I sure don't know how to find it. I also cannot find any other apps which would have this feature.

I've tried calling Chase's customer support for their mobile apps, but I get disconnected. When I call their main number and ask for a transfer, I get disconnected. Realistically, I should use all of these problems as an excuse for (finally) quitting Chase, but I live in BFE and travel quite a bit, so I find it convenient that there are so many Chase branches.

So, are there any other Chase customers who are using the S5 and having similar issues, or who know how to fix these problems? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Not a chase user so I'm not sure here

Could it be that the feature was removed in an app update and not specific to the phone?

That's a good question. A few months ago, I did an update on the Chase App for my S4 which affected the Quick Deposit feature, but I can find no additional updates for the app at this time - for either phone. I believe the version of the Chase Mobile App I just downloaded for the S5 is the most up-to-date version and just isn't that compatible with this phone. I can still use the app on my S4, but my service with my previous carrier will expire in 3 weeks. The way I go about using it on the S4 doesn't appear to even exist on the S5.

Ok, I have chase and tried it. The way to get the options for the quick deposit is to hold down the "menu " button. The button on the left. Just hold it down and it will pull up the menu for the quick deposit. Hope that works.

This is yet another reminder as to why the S5 design is so ridiculous and confusing. Everybody and their mother who has owned an S3 or S4 is used to tapping the menu button to access options in their apps.

On the S5 you must now hold the menu button down to access options. Why? Just to make the phone different....and to give a middle finger to the thousands of former S3 and S4 owners

Thank you all very much. Yes, on the S4, you just tap the button and it brings up the right Chase menu. On the S5, you have to hold the puppy down and keep pressing, but it does come up - which is all I ask. I was only tapping it rather than pressing and holding it.

Nonetheless, I am sincerely grateful to everyone who responded. adien666, big thanks to you for figuring out the right answer.

Thank you all, again.

Blame Google, not Samsung. They're the ones getting manufacturers to replace the menu button with the app button to be more in line with their OS design. At least Samsung was able to add the long press menu option.

I miss the menu button as well. But, I've already gotten used to holding it down for menu.

It took me all of 3 times to remember that you have to hold it for a whopping 1 second. There are a few people making this change a way bigger deal than it actually is.

It's a new phone, there are going to be changes, if you don't like change, I suggest hanging onto your old phone.

the key is to know which buttons to push on any device.
The Galaxy only has three buttons at bottom to use: far left switches to all screens open, the middle button takes you to home, far right button goes to previous screen.

log into chase
Select and hold the far left button
The option field will pop up with the Options: my accounts, payments and transfer, deposit, find ATM, log off, more ...

Thank you

The larger issue is that it was different than the method which worked just fine on the S4, which is why we would have assumed remained the same on the S5.

When using any phone, most of us wouldn't assume you have to solidly press and hold down the buttons in order to make it work. When calling your mother, you would expect the phone to register the numbers you press without holding down the buttons 'for a whopping 1 second.' If you were handed a new phone and didn't know you needed to do this, you would likely conclude the phone was broken. Whether it's a phone, or a remote, or your car's built in navigation, most of us are just going to tap the numbers unless we already know we have to hold and keep pressing for a pre-determined amount of time.

Whether we blame Samsung or Google, I agree that this is a change that likely did not need to occur. I've found other forums where people have commented that they can no longer use the Chase Quick Deposit app, which leads me to conclude this is a common misunderstanding which needs to be addressed.

I still sincerely appreciate all of the comments and feedback. Thank you again.

I see where you are coming from and hope I didn't sound rude. Personally, each time I get a new phone, I want there to be new features. I'm OK that I have to learn new tricks each time, otherwise, phone innovation would come to a standstill.
