Root [Boost Mobile] Which version of Philz Touch do I use?

I clicked the first link in the philz guide and
It brought me to a page with multiple versions of philz. I was confused which one to download. I read the post about the guy who couldn't mount his external sd card. I downloaded philz_touch_6.25.0-d2lte.tar.md5 from there. It is 7.36 MB. Is this the correct file? I do not want any issues. It is a scary thought that when I wipe the phone it might wipe everything. Then how do I get the install files to where I can flash them. I am thinking when I get into philz after I make the nandroid backup of stock to boot back up first and copy my image backup to an external hd first. Also to check when I go to install from zip that I can browse the external sd card in philz before wiping or flashing. Hopefully I downloaded the correct file to flash philz?
Any suggestions or help is appreciated.

Go to the download links in this thread. Once there choose the 6.26.6 d2lte zip. Put it on your SD card and flash it and reboot. You will then have Philz recovery. You only use the ones labeled tar if you are using Odin. When flashing in your recovery you always need to use the one labeled a zip file.

This should get you straightened out. REMEMBER.... NEVER USE ANYTHING WITH tar IN IT UNLESS YOU'RE USING ODIN. :D

As far as I know I would use the tar. and use odin because I currently only have stock recovery? Wouldn't I only use the zip only if I had another custom recovery installed? Ie twrp and wanted to switch to philz? And if I wanted to flash the file you just linked through odin unzip it and find and md5.tar inside and flash that through odin? Do I need to update odin or can I use the same odin I flashed my sgs2 with?

Update to Odin 3. Download tar. Flash with Odin. Instructions are in the main Philz thread. Link is at the top of the thread posted above. Don't worry, it's easy ;)

Oh man. My bad. I thought you were already running a custom recovery.

You are correct then. The tar image is what you need. You need the newest version though. The one you have listed above is the old version. 6.26.6 is the newest build.

As far as flashing. Rick gave you the info you need. The instructions are in the main thread.
