Phone just fell out of the Bodyglove holster onto a blacktop driveway....

If anyone wants to help or give him ideas on how to commit fraud then please do it over PM's.

To the OP, I have had a few holsters and I always end up ditching them. They are unreliable unless your a slow moving person who sits still all day lol. I use pouches now and just pocket my phone, a decent puch with some padding will cover about 95% of your phone which is way more then ANY case can offer and almost the same as a closed holster.

I am a tech for Comcast, and as I was going into my van to get a splitter, the holster hit the door, and out went my phone. Like I said, there really is no visible damage to my phone once a case is on it. So am I being too paranoid?

But it does make me consider ditching the body glove holster and just placing the phone in my pocket. Whats your opinions on this?

You have to be a little bit careful with a phone in your pocket. If your pants are tight or even moderately so, certain movements can compress the pocket and put tension on the device (squatting down, for example).

With a phone this thin and a screen this large (relative to previous generations of phones) I have to assume it's a matter of time before we see some "OMFG MY SCREEN CRACKED, it was in my pocket and I didn't do anything!!!!111" posts. I'm actually surprised we haven't; the Nexus One had lots of reports of screen cracking from the get-go. I think a lot of these incidents come from people moving about in their daily routine, performing some sort of maneuver that puts too much stress on the screen, and not realizing it. Then later they take out their phone and the screen has "magically" cracked "all by itself."

EDIT: You said you're a cable tech... Personally I wouldn't keep a large-screen smartphone in my pocket if I had to move around a lot for my job.

Thats true. Up until last year, I didn't. But last summer, I got the BlackBerry Storm, and then the Motorolla Droid, and now 5 months later I had to get the Droid Incredible (retail price at that). I'm addicted lol.

I never said I was definitely returning it. The scratch is not even visible when the Body Glove is placed on it, so its no big deal. But it does make me consider ditching the body glove holster and just placing the phone in my pocket. Whats your opinions on this?

holsters and pouches are lame anyway. why not do this - get the VZW store technocell black and red gradient case and put it on the phone. this accomplishes two things -

1. hides the scratch so you don't have to look at it.
2. protects the phone from future accidents.

good luck.

I've had the Body Glove on it since I bought it. On impact with the door, my entire phone (except for the back of the Body Glove, which remained in the holster), fell onto the blacktop in pieces. So really, its the Body Gloves fault lol.

Ok, I guess I'll return the Body Glove tomorrow. I want that Gradient red/black case. Would you guys be as annoyed as I am with a small scratch on the phone? Even if its not visible with the case on?

Enjoy and use your things and realize that they will inevitably get banged up, dented, and scratched in regular daily use. This will not be the first or last time such things will happen. Your only other option would be to lock everything in a glass case at home. But then what good would it be to you? Ain't much in this world that's flawless. Lower your anxiety level and relax. Many times nobody notices such things but you. It will not matter to you tomorrow. In the grand scheme of things, it's not a big deal. Shit happens. You leave marks as you go through life. It's only fair that life leaves marks on you. That is the cost of pleasure.

That's true. Its not even visible at all, and at least he screen itself is still flawless. I just hope it won't lower the value of the phone if I sell it in the future. I suppose it won't if there's a case on it anyways lol.
