Just in case you guys were wondering the Verizon screen protectors are absolute crap.

First post and already I am complaining.

I guess most of you know already that they don't fit the entire front plate, only the center screen. But I was willing to live with that till better ones came out, but what really got me (unless I did something wrong) was the second tab you are supposed to pull off after installing the shield is stuck on like a sticker that has glue on the back side and left part of the sticker stuck on the screen.

On my second attempt I used Goo Gone to get the sticker off first but the application for applying still came out messy.

Anyway just a heads up stay away.



On a side note one thing that doesnt suck was the red and black gradient case I got for the phone. It feels nice and I believe will absorb most falls to the ground while still protecting the phone. It also looks great and seems to sit flush to the ground so that the camera is not touching the surface directly.

Also i want that case but my local store didn't have it and i cant find it to order on their site. I might have to do some driving tomorrow.

The 2nd sticker actually removes another layer just like the 1st sticker did. I thought the same thing when I was trying to remove just the 2nd "sticker" part thinking there is no another layer. Other than that, I'm living with the verizon screen protector just fine..that is until sgp comes out with their anti-fingerprint/anti-glare one

I ordered it over the phone. Someone on this site posted an item number, I called them up, gave it to the girl and she got it for me.

If you can't find it just call them up and ask them to search their computer, they should come up with it.

LOL really? But the second screen never came up for me. In fact like I said the sticker pulled off half way without lifting anything else up. And I was going slow.

Yeah, there are three layers. Two protectors and one shield. It was a three pack and I managed a perfect application on the third try.

I pulled the second tab back at an extreme angle gently. When the top layer started to separate, I used the smoother card to hold down the protector. (Learned to do this after I totally messed up the secon application. The layer with the number 2 tab sticks to the screen protector more than the protector sticks to the screen.)

They aren't the best, but it's better than nothing.

picked up a zagg screen protector from bestbuy last night. Incredible model.... covers the whole front from top to bottom with cutouts for the optical joystick and the ear speaker. the fit is damn near perfect.

mine has a few micro bubbles in it yet, but they will disapate over time. ALL the buttons work fine and the touch screen is working great. its not quite as "glidey" when u drag ur fingers across the screen with the protector on, but it works fine.

the only complaint so far is the prox sensor MAY not be working right. i say MAY because its hard to tell when it up to ur face. but if i cover it with my finger it doesnt seem to work. mind you i havent tried it while making a call, so its possible they prox sensor only works durring a call. im not sure yet.

So far so good. However I did mess up the first one since I didn't know there was 3 layers also. Was trying to scrub off the 2nd tab sticker and found out on my first attempt lucky us its a 3 pack.

1. wash your hands and dry them well.
2. wiped down your screen until it is flawless.
3. place protector on screen and position it until you get a feel for where it will go.
4. remove first layer and slowly work the protector on, backing up whenever a bubble appears to work it out and continue.
5. remove top layer CAREFULLY to make sure you don't do what I did and pull up the adhesive, partially fubaring all the work that went into step 4.

I got mine on the first attempt, but it wasn't perfect. However you can't really tell, and overally I like these protectors. They are decently thick, slick, and don't interfere with the touchscreen.

I did pretty much what he said, too. Still ended up messing up on my first try... never try to shave your dog before doing this (too much dog fur getting in the way).

Wiped the screen clean with lens cleaner with anti-static/anti-lint fabric, blew some air couple times to make sure there is no visible dirt or dust on the screen. Then aligned the screen first WITHOUT removing either stickered layers. Remove the sticker #1, apply it slowly from one corner. With bit of luck, it will adhere nicely onto the screen. Then try to remove trapped air bubble BEFORE removing sticker #2. Once there are no bubbles, then gently tug sticker #2, and you are all set.
I'm not too concerned about not being able to cover entire front at the moment.
Going into Day 3, and no visible scratches on either protected or unprotected part.

Me too. I had to read the instructions twice to be sure, but so far I'm happy with the cheap protectors. Installed just fine.

I usually run the hot water in the shower to steam up my bathroom. It gets rid of all the floating dust in the air. Works great. Do it at your own risk.

Well i've learned its best to not remove the packaging protection until you are ready to install the protector, that way there is no dust or fingerprints to try and remove. I was able to install the first screen just fine, perfectly aligned (not covering the soft buttons) and with no bubbles (removed a couple with the card it comes with). It looks great, but i will be replacing it once a better one comes out (ie steinheil).

Using the screen protector right now. No issues with install at all. One hint I read elsewhere on the forum is to run the shower for a while to settle any dust in the air. I did that and it really helped me get a clean install.

I actually was having trouble with the Privacy Screens. I wasted the first two so I took the last one up to VZ Store. Guy worked there tried to put the last one on, said it was sticky on both sides and the tabs were wrong. Said he never seen that and they wouldnt get any Privacy screens until it was fixed or figured out.

I have the VzW one on mine and I install them on customers phones all day long. Invisible shield is nice, but it's not as smooth after a while, your finger tends to "hop" on the screen (that was my experience with it). I agree that it would be nice if it covered the whole front of the phone, but my guess is that VzW didn't want to do that because it would be harder to put on. Obviously, the longer the screen protector, the less margin for error when you put it on, and since they're not easy to adjust once put on, that's probably why they choose to do that.

What I've found is that it's also best to be in as a dust free environment as you can. I installed mine by leaving the 1st protective layer partially on...align to the screen, and peel the protective layer back as you slowly work your way up the screen with the smoothing card. The less exposure the portector has with open air before it contacts the screen, the better.

I bought the stock ones and coming from a long in tooth PPC user that only bought the best ppctechs brand... these install easier and are doing a super job so far. The second layer makes it easy to install and is ingenious.

As always...ymmv but imo these cannot be beat for the price.
