Root [ROM] SuperROM B13 v4.2 {updated 6-8-14}

im on b11 rom. will the b13 rom u just give me hurt it? (i mean since im on b11, should i restore b11? then the system update would take care of the rest?) will this also delete the root as well? just want to double check and thanx again!! :)

The b13 unmodified stock rom will remove root and update you to b13. No need to restore anything, just flash the rom.

edit: make sure you wipe data before flashing

so... are u saying i dont need a new phone and that the rom is causing issues?? basically my text take forever to send and most of the time either fail or send or recieve much much later than they should and calls drop and go to voicemail and cut out frequently? most websites return errors and is slow when it does work. and battery life is terrible and takes forever to charge. sorry to dump on you lol just tired of the issues.

What i am saying is to flash the stock b13 rom and try out your phone before installing all your apps. If it works well, start installing your apps and setting up your device. If it stops working well, it is probably something you have installed or changed that caused it.

SuperROM B13 v3 now available :)

Changes:
  • Updated all apps
  • Updated update-binary and updater-script for compatibility with newer recoveries (still works with older ones)
  • Fixed BusyBox install
  • Added symlinks for broken font files

This version assumes you already have B13 partitions. If not you will need them as this rom no longer provides them.

Updated all apps? Newer versions? I will flash in a few mins. I can flash right over v2 right? This is great!!!

A lot of the apps were outdated. They are the same apps and if you update through the play store you already have the newest ones. I incorporated them into the rom so you won't have to update them immediately after the flash. If newer versions of the apps come out you can update them from the play store as usual.

Flashing over v2 should be fine. I always recommend wiping data, but it should not cause any issues if you don't. Make a backup first just in case ;)

Cant tell any differences yet but I always like a fresh ROM. Gives me something to do. Now I get to uninstall all the apps I never really use

There are not very many changes. The main reason for v3 is the updated binary/script for newer recoveries and a couple bug fixes.

Super I'm thinking I have not read enough of this thread yet, or I missed the answer I am looking for. I am going to flash this rom but the partition thing is new to me, do I simply flash that partition zip before flashing the rom? I have the osiris rom installed right now but cant see the screen lol

If you already updated your device to B13 at some point, you don't need to update partitions. If not, just flash the partition updater and the rom.

SuperROM v4 now available in the OP :)

OP updated with v4 features and screenshots. Enjoy!

edit: it would be best to wipe data and do a fresh install with this one.

edit2: it takes a good 3 minutes to boot the first time, and does some strange things in the process. You may even get a couple force closes, but after it settles down all is good.

Hi SupeR got a question for you i'm curious about the performance and host file tweaks on this new rom what are they and what do they do exactly if you could explain those in a little more detail i'd appreciate it thanks.

The tweaks are the same as v3. Host file blocks a bunch of ads. Performance are in build.prop and include some for network and screen. Try it and see what you think ;)

Its VERY good :) But there is always room for improvement. We really appreciate you still working on this device after most developers stopped. I can recieve mms just fine, but it seems to never send.. anyone else have this problem? Other than that most of the kitkat features are here :) I just wish the launcher wasn't $4.00 for the prime version.. I miss my unread counters :( Settings, messaging, and dialers for kitkat can also be downloaded from the play store, but it would have been nice to see that become a intergrated part of the rom unstead of side options. Other than that its VERY nice. :) Great work SuperR. Keep it up if you can man. :)

LOVE the update man, it's beautiful. Was a little tough to find WHICH settings the brightness control was under, but I got it. Can't stand that pulsating mode. The Google voice search is awesome. And the gravity box is just amazing. Pretty much complete control of everything on the phone and ability to customize to a persons own liking. I'm gonna try and keep the phone as clean as possible cuz it was dogging HARDCORE for a while, think I had too much useless junk on it. Needed to reset it and figured I'd come here and see what might be new, glad I did. ONE thing I don't really like is to add pages to homescreen, I gotta drag an app to the right and it'll add a page. Cant drag to the left to add a new page. I turn infinite scrolling on and that kills the google search screen, maybe that's why. Unless I'm missing something, lemme know. Otherwise, it's EXCELLENT!!! You did a great job on this one.

Glad you like the ROM :)

You are correct about the home screen. Google Now integration is why you have to drag to the right. I don't like the integration and turn it off in the launcher settings, then am able to drag to the left to create screens. It just depends on what you like more lol.

Dude, I dont know why you feel the need to always add a launcher in your roms. I feel it cheapens it and annoys the hell out of me, the only reason why I didn't keep your previous rom. I know I can change the launcher but I cant get rid of it. How do I use your ROM without ANY launcher? Is there a way you can build a seperate one without a launcher for those of us that dont want one?
