Root MetroPCS Update Rooted Phone

No luck. The cache folder doesn't show a sign of a zip. I tried adb, ota app and another desktop program that I use to pull or push stuff and no freaking luck. That file must be downloading to a different folder or something else is happening.

try checking and dl'ing the update again. maybe it's in /sdcard/Download for some stupid reason

No problem, I'm still trying to figure where the download goes. About the update itself it doesn't bother me because I only get it if I press the check for update button and all I do is press the cancel button and it's gone. I'm kind of pissed because now I have the issue with the black screen after trying to install the damn update. My phone was running great but since I have this phone I haven't been able to flash anything and it's very limited and since my days with the LG optimus, LG Esteem and the LG Spirit which they had plenty of support and a lot of things to flash I've been itching to do something with this phone so I went for the only update available. Now I'm SMH...

Thanks for the suggestions but is this a permanent fix for the issue. I've been using my phone with no problems, in matter fact everything I have posted here today is been with my phone. It's that it's annoying as hell to do the blind steps every time I reboot the phone which I didn't have to do before the bloody update attempt. I do barely reboot the phone but I do. Again thanks.

the power cycle method worked on my first fierce for the black screen issue. it would stick for a while, but eventually I'd have to do it again. But hay, if it doesn't bother you.... and safemode, well thats just to see if the core os is still intact.

it is also my understanding that if you have an exact copy of the block device(i.e. dd if=/dev/block/mmcblck0p7 of=/sdcard/system.img ---> dd if=/sdcard/system.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p7) it can be flashed to the partition without error. Although I have not tried and can't confirm it, I have everything for the process at http://androidforums.com/official-u...el-one-touch-fierce-recovery.html#post6509854
