Hello to all!

New user & first post.

Had the Desire (T-Mobile) for about 3 weeks now and I have got to say that I think it is an incredible bit of kit. Having not really being interested in mobiles up until recently I am - it's safe to say - a noob, especially when it comes to the more technical side of things; coding, programming etc. However, I hope to learn from you guys and become a bit more savvy.

When I first got the phone I was a bit concerned with how quickly the battery drained but quickly worked out that if turned things like; Wi-Fi, GPS, and even Mobile data, off, then it dramatically improved it's lifespan - it lasts about 2 days now with the help of JuiceDefender.

Anyway, I'd better ask my question instead of boring you to death! I want to have a folder full of bookmarks but I don't like the standard Desire bookmark shortcut - just looks a bit naff imo. Does anyone know of an app (or could develop one) that uses the Favicon as a stand-alone image for the bookmark rather than the stock Desire bookmark shortcut?

Cheers!

Thanks for the suggestion lekky but unfortunately the app you mentioned doesn't seem to be what I'm looking for. I'm looking to use something in conjunction with More Icons to place many small bookmarks (in the form of a Favicon) into a folder. LiveBookmarks seems to only show a miniature screenshot :(

Thanks again for the suggestion though.

Did you select grid layout? That sounds like what you want (sorry if not, i'm not entirely sure what you want if that isnt it :p )

I tried that. It downloads and installs fine from Market, but for some reason the app wont open. I tried a hard reset and redownloading and installing, but nothing gives.

Any ideas, or alternatives that does the same thing?

You cant open the app itself. You have to add it as a folder onyour desktop. Long press on a free place on your desktop, and select live folders, its in there.

Thanks for that. I was trying to ad it as a program first, and then as a widget. Selecting live foders instead did the trick.

I works fine, but I am still looking for some sort of bookmark widget to replace the stock one. Not quite happe with the looks of either stock or livebookmarks, but suppose thats just me being fuzzy.

Why does the Desire save a thumbnail image for every website you visit, even when you're not using them as bookmarks? If you mount the phone to a computer or use Astro you will see them in a folder on the root of the SD card. Talk about wasting space over time, particularly if you do a lot of browsing.
