How to turn off the vibration

How can you turn off the vibration on the Droid Eris?

i've managed to turn off all the vibrating features on the phone except the one for the home/menu/back/search. i have yet to see a way to turn these off. I'm not really looking for a way but that's what i've found.

but to avswer you

if you goto settings/sound & display. tick the checkbox for phone vibrate
then goto settings/locale & text then choose touch input then choose text input uncheck vibrate when typing.

other than that no there other vibrate setting i can find on the phone which still leaves the vibration of the buttons stated above.

I keep my vibration off because I try to keep my battery running as long as possible. Every vibration will ultimately drain the battery and will eventually deplete what resources the battery has to offer.

I recently switched from the iPhone to the Droid Incredible and love it! I hope this post helps the owners of the previous posts, or anyone else looking for a solution.

I found this information on another website - Credit: Motorola Droid: Enable/Disable Vibration When Pressing Keys

1. From the main screen, press Menu.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select Sound & display.
4. Check Haptic feedback on or off.

That works for people who upgraded to 2.1. But there is no way to do it on stock 1.5 as far as I know.
