How can you turn off the vibration on the Droid Eris?

i've managed to turn off all the vibrating features on the phone except the one for the home/menu/back/search. i have yet to see a way to turn these off. I'm not really looking for a way but that's what i've found.

but to avswer you

if you goto settings/sound & display. tick the checkbox for phone vibrate
then goto settings/locale & text then choose touch input then choose text input uncheck vibrate when typing.

other than that no there other vibrate setting i can find on the phone which still leaves the vibration of the buttons stated above.

Does the vibrate feature really use that much power? I have it on for texts along with a ringtone, but I didn't think it sapped that much energy.

That works for people who upgraded to 2.1. But there is no way to do it on stock 1.5 as far as I know.

Lose one feature, gain another. That's how 2.1 on the Eris works.

If your phone is rooted, you could try the update I posted to turn off feedback on the dialer.

The remedy for that is a factory data reset: menu > privacy > factory data reset.
