Help HOME MENU BACK and SEARCH key lights go out

So the HOME MENU BACK and SEARCH key lights go out and randomly sometimes come back on like if I play a movie from TV.COM

Is there some way I am accidently turning them OFF?

I'm pretty certain it has to do w/ the ambient light sensor on the front of the phone. In a low level light setting, the lights should come back on. Try holding your hand over the light meter at the top of the phone and they should pop on if they're off.

I think certain apps will highlight the keys if they're needed for navigation. For instance, while watching a youtube vid, the lights will kick on.

and tried covering up the top by the red ear piece and they came back on!

I found the same thing, but anyway to disable this feature?

If you are watching a movie on it those lights could be kind of distracting.

I upload a software update lasts night. Now my Home Keys back light work intermitantly. If I click enough times the light may or may not come on. Has nothing to do with light sensor on topo of phone
