HTC EVO 4G Spotted in a Sprint store – Price tag says It’s Free : leakdroid.com)

Interesting how it says "Free" on two year contract. Could be fake but who knows.

Engadget's talking about it too:

I had a chat at a Sams club cell phone outlet and the guy showed me a printed paper about the EVO (general stuff like Sprint's Website) that he said the sprint guy dropped off and also told him that Orlando would be mostly covered by 4G towards the end of this year. Good to know! :)
He also mentioned that Sprint is about 75% of his business (they have other carriers as well) and he did not believe how sprint lost customers this Q.

I'll take that with a grain of salt, but hey - I couldn't help but hope it's true. :)

I'm sure they'll probably get ten's of thousands of new contracts if it's free. And would probably catch all others carriers off guard, which would give them several weeks worth of head start before other carriers can come up with a marketing plan.

When was the last time Sprint released a flagship phone as a free phone? This leads me to believe even more that this photo is a fake. No way they'd just give the device away especially knowing the people want this phone and are willing to pay.

let see if I can clear up anything from what sprint associates have told me.

1. The free thing is always their they have to put in the thingy that gives the information and since they were setting it up wasnt ready yet.

2. If you thiink the pic is fake look at the date on the phone says 5/1/2010 the date of the picture

only thing I wonder is.. WHEN IS THE RELEASE DATE. sprint really needs to learn how to tell its customer and potential customers things.
