Ok the first thing is the lock screen password thing has got to go, this is stupid on the length of the time out, and having to enter the password everytime I pull out of standby.

next is people : synced from gmail like it should have, but for some reason every contacts phone number is also set up for sending messages ? I would expect that if it were set to home/work vs mobil, never saw this on the older people app. I like a lot of new features in the current people app, but there are some issues that need to be sorted out.

The problems you're experiencing aren't due to Fresh. I never got asked for a password, on any screen. If you're being asked for a password, then you just have changed a setting somewhere.

As far as the People app, I'm seeing the same in DamageControl 2.07.2. So I'm thinking it might just be a 2.1 thing, which is not the fault of the devs.

Well I found the time out, changed it from the default 30 seconds to 2min which is way better. I still would prefer to not have it at all. It asked for the unlock password on initial reboot once the zip was installed.

I found where I can change the password, but no option to turn the feature off that I have found yet in settings.

The people app thing is 'tarted :) Need to find a replacement or a fix for this

As for Fresh or not, I didn't know if it was a fresh thing or a 2.1 thing. Just looking for an answer.

Thanks

Changed the screen timeout, a factory setting of 30 seconds is dumb with a lockout.

As for the keyboard sound I have yet to find a setting for just actual sound. On and off yes, volume Yes, but the proper screen for changing that sound no.

And too late, when people make assumptions about others skill levels with no knowledge of the person, that just look like a Jackass by nature.

If I post here it is because I have spend some time looking through the phone and can't find what I am looking for. It isn't there is a proper manual for some of this stuff.

if you are referring to a password to unlock as the pattern lock feature.. that's easy to turn off.. menu>settings>security>uncheck require pattern if you're talking about the credential storage password. menu>settings>security>clear storage (it resets the password)

the ONLY thing I have ever seen used to unlock the phone was the pattern lock. if you have something else, then it might be an app that you have installed.

for other posters, remember, if you start off saying "no offense" or "not to be a jerk" or other things along those lines... then the next thing you say is exactly that (offensive, being a jerk, other) and probably best not said at all...

Do you have your phone setup for exchange/activesync for work emails? Some IT departments force out a policy that says in order to use email on your phone, you have to have a lockout screen. Its a security thing. I found the best solution ever for it. Its is a free app called "LockPicker". Search for it on the market. 2.1 actually follows the new security rules so it puts the policy in place. I run LockPicker on my phone and I have never been asked for the password again. Let me know if that was the issue.

UPDATE: here is a link to the QR Code for lockpicker

mysticmead & Syphon - Thanks.

Here is exactly what I did Sunday.

My Rooted 1.5 Sprint Hero, Stock Rom -

Did a Data Wipe in Restore menu ( 1.5.x )

Tried to do a Dalvik wipe and it wouldn't do it, said to preform it via adb. The problem there, I couldn't fin d a way to do it via ADB. I had a good nandroid backup so I said wtf and installed the Fresh 2.0d Rom.

On the reboot, I was asked for a password ( not email or several but a lock screen ) and not the pattern lock.

I have gone into the security settings and I see reset, change pw etc but no way to disable it.

Here is the PW screen after wake

Now after this I upgraded the RA to 1.6.x and then flash the newer radio ( btw that worked out great now I have 3 bars at home when I would struggle for 1 )

Outside of that, the Exchange server I use for mail in a non work ( I help run it ) and it does not push or require additional security.

The only thing I can think is that this is something Flip added to the Fresh 2.0d ?

Thanks for the help and suggestions guys
