Hi All,
I rooted S4 few months ago and was trying to see if I can take backup of existing ROM. I installed ROM manager and TWRP Manager. ON ROM manager , I clicked on back up existing ROM, it goes reboot mode and gives me following options except backup and Restore:

-reboot system now
-apply update from ADB
-apply update from ext storage
-wipe data/factory reset
-wipe cache partition
-apply update from cache.

I also tried pressing Vol Up + Menu + Power, but am getting same options. Please help

Sam

When your phone is in TWRP there should be an option to back up your rom. Are you able to get a menu option on your phone when you boot into TWRP?

Thanks, I do not get backup option. All I am trying to do is to backup current ROM and unroot it. If something goes wrong with unrooting, I should be able restore it with current ROM.

That is really odd. Usually you can backup your ROM with those two options. I can look up some more info and get back with you a little later or hopefully Dais or someone with some better expertise can help out..

Thanks!! Just want to make sure I understand. Should I go ahead and download CF-Auto-root...and Odin files and flash these into phone.BTW, I tried this yesterday but when I was opening Odin, Auto Reboot and F.Reset time box were already checked and greyed out.In addition, ID:COM box nerver turned yellow when I connected to phone.Based on the instructions only Auto Reboot box should be checked and yellow box pops up when connected to phone, so I cancelled the operation.

If you've not rooted yet than yes you'd need to root with cf-autoroot for L720. I made a short video tut on this as well. I'm assuming you've read that. Lol but if your using the files I provided in.. http://androidforums.com/sprint-galaxy-s4-all-things-root/851566-video-root-tutorial-l720t-l720-sprint.html than you can just leave all options alone. Click PDA and select the cf-autoroot file. Hit start and it should reboot. Be sure your in Odin mode by volume down+home and power. After a warning hitting volume up will allow flashing of custom firmware. :)
