LG G3 Pre-release/Rumor/Speculation Thread

I typically don't wear watches, unless it's a special occasion and I wear my luxury watch...That was, until I bought the Gear on sale. Once I had that, I started wearing a watch again. Once I found more functionality in the watch, aside from telling time, the watch became a viable accessory for me. Not necessarily a "must have," but it's definitely worthy of daily driving, as compared to when I didn't use one.

I forgot mine at home, today, and my wrist now feels naked.

fair enough..ty.

Soooooooooo. I'm thinking about taking advantage of the sprint gold exclusive. I've never had anything other than a black phone, which would look awesome on the G3. Any opinions on that?

I got a gold phone because it was on sale.

And covered it with an armored case in black and fire engine red.

I think that it looks outstanding.

Others here can't stop laughing at it.

My opinion is that you only have to please yourself. :)

G3 for $199 ( 2 year ). Wireless Quick Circle case offered for $59. No mention of wireless charging or just a back cover if you are not interested in the Quick Circle case. So I am assuming the OEM back cover is sans wireless charging. There are non-OEM wireless back covers available on ebay for the F400( Korean version) which will not fit the US version because the contacts for wireless are positioned differently. No G3 wireless back covers are shown in the LG home page, accessories section. I presume some opportunists will put out a wireless back cover soon, but the best back cover would be an OEM by LG with the metallic, non-smudge coating. 3/32

Update: Some online orders have shipped already and will be in customer's hands today or tomorrow.

A lot of pixels for 28nm to push and current panel tech was designed to efficiently push 1080p. The combo is not a good fit, but is what it is: Not a good fit for heavier users. For that matter, it will be interesting to see how the G3 behaves with very warm to hot ambient temperature for all users. All newer phones get hot when using beyond calls, so will be interesting to see how the G3 pans out.

Verizon so far has put little effort into the G3, but a lot of the new device publication efforts in retail are funded by the device maker and not the seller. Paying points to the stores for prominent positioning, publications and fancy signs is also pricey.

That still does not answer Verizon's utter silence THIS close to an apparent launch date.

Rush,

You do seem to spend a huge amount of time on the forum for the phone you do not like.

Do not take it the wrong way, please. I really appreciate your contributions about the poor battery life, poor QHD display, evil Verizon etc. :D

Harman Kardon?

That's the model I wanted, just for the sound upgrade. It comes with gold speakers and a black back. I'd have been happy with any color for the sound upgrade.

But, Best Buy had those in the warehouse, refused to stock or order it for me unless I paid for it outright, whereas the gold Sprint model only came with an extra accessories gift card just for that day worth $50.

For $50 I instantly went from not seeing the point of gold to agreeing that it was the best of all possible colors! :D

Exercised my black tie trade on the LTEvo, the manager agreed to discount his best earbuds in stock to make up for their idiotic policy, so I walked out with the M8 and Bose IE2 buds spending exactly $74 with tax + $7 left on the gift card.

Within an hour I was satisfied that everything worked, and within another, I was s-off, rooted and had flashed the Harman Kardon firmware update for my DAC. Added Viper4Android to sound shape for the earbud deficiencies and have been happy since.

It really sounds excellent. :)

Good to know that the viper sound mod works with HK hack. On a verizon M8 s-off, rooted, TWRP 2.7.0.2 and CID 1111111 running bonestock rom.
I am pretty well satisfied with the HK mod alone, but will install the Viper for some more fine tuning of the new buds I picked up.
Was thinking about selling the M8 for the G3, but the more I read, the more I am liking this M8. If they could just cut down on the bezel's a bit and increase the screen contrast some it would be the perfect phone for me.
Don't know if I could ever switch after using the speakerphone and the GPS turn by turn nav. I can actually REALLY use them and hear them !!!
:):D:eek: A first !

What would they say, and why would they say it? You want them to announce a phone that they haven't released yet? When the phone is available, they'll announce it. You looking for something like this:

"Verizon Wireless is happy to announce that we will be carrying the new flagship phone from LG, the G3. Just not yet."

Just this one. It has all the hallmarks of a perfect storm:

1. Hardware design that likely polarizes (light users verses heavy)
2. LG making an obviously ironic decision to put tech in the device that hurts performance overall-yet will help sales based on the mean target of consumers (big display, res spec).
3. Will result in even greater comically subjective battery life threads.
4. Potential angst of the masses when the likely prime model is released to combat iPhone 6.
5. An already near cult like worship of an inanimate object with over stated hyperbole in regards to performance and battery life.
6. The lament of several reviews (Anandtech is one) and tech fans that get this device could be the best yet IF had 1080p instead.

This device to me is a litmus in regards to users (light verses heavy) and how generically tested a review by the media might be.

My main background/passion is economics and electronics, but like Tom Cruise, I "know" psychology ;) :). Like Tom, not really.
