Any good/bad user feedback?

Anyone looking for some feedback before buying - I've just picked mine up from john lewis with a 2 year warranty :). I ordered the white 16gb wifi.

Screen is stunning. Very bright and detailed.

There is some very slight lag when scrolling through web sites but its nothing to be concerned with. Its marginal. If you want to know why, I dare you to ask the questions on XDA forums

The keyboard is nice and accurate.

I'll install apps later and have a longer play (only 30 mintes now) - first impressions are this is better than the Sony Z2 tablet I returned a couple of weeks ago - keyboard wasn't very sensitive on that and lagged when typing. No problems here.

All the best.

Agreed -- it's terrific, for all the right reasons. Extraordinarily crisp display, snappy speed, light weight, handy form factor. You're gonna love it. Forum senior member "bonerp" is right, too, about the stock keyboard: it is surprisingly great. He's also right that the web experience may be just very slightly laggy in some instances, but I also believe that may be a factor of my own slow-pokey ISP. And "bonerp" is right still further that involving the folks at XDA on this issue would be something of a tar baby. (Google Uncle Remus and the B'rer Rabbit stories if you're not familiar with this allusion.)
ALso, may I recommend that you have a look at this fellow's very helpful "40 Tips & Tricks for the Tab S 10.5" video [ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P-kaqi3XhsU ]. Apart from learning a lot of useful operating techniques, you'll get a pretty good look at the device and many of its system screens.

I just bought this tablet and so far I see no cons just yet.....but I only bought it like an hour or so ago........gonna take the tablet for a few runs and I will let you know what I truly think.

But initial thoughts are that this tablet with the amazing amoled screen and octa core processor makes this tablet a beast. I love how thin and light weight it is.

More to come in the following days.

I bought the 32GB at Best Buy. I have to say I'm disappointed with the video quality when watching Netflix. It seems like the video is out of sync with the audio. I've confirmed I have enough bandwidth and that the wifi is solid.

Hmmmmm is it with all Netflix videos? I'm playing this at work and we have crappie WiFi to begin with so I'll have to wait until I get home to confirm this

ok so here is my thoughts:

first off when i first bought the tablet i was using it at work and wifi sucked.....there were plenty of app updates that it needed including a software update.....i think with our crappy wifi, the updates that were downloaded were corrupted and i was having a few issues which included netflix.

so i went home and i factory reset the device and after everything, all of the issues were corrected.

so far i have no complaints with this device. the screen is absolutely beautiful.....i'm in love with super amoled!!!!!!! and you can't beat the octa core processor. this thing just flies....i get no lag what so ever.

i need to buy a case as i think though it is really nice to have such a light weight device, it just feels like a gust of wind can blow the tablet over wherever it is laying. i'm looking into the logitech bluetooth keyboard/case, samsung is supposed to be coming out with a keyboard case/dock, or maybe some of the cheap cases on amazon.

i'm also will be looking into buying a 128g micro sd card as i only bought the 16g tablet.

I know you said you want a keyboard case, but do give the Samsung Book Case a look. B&H has it for $50. I used their ad to price match at Best Buy. After using several cases on my iPads, including the smart cover and several cheap iterations I can say that this is the nicest case I've used on a tablet. The mounting points on the back of the Tab S make for a very positive attachment, and the magnets on the fold hold the easel positions far better than the iPad's cover ever did. I also like the way it wraps around- it makes it more secure and it doesn't open in my bag. (can't say how many times I found my iPad battery dead because of that). I got used to the smart cover on the iPad and was afraid I would have to give up turning the tablet off by closing the case, but this one does the job perfectly.

Yeah I think for now I am getting just a cheap cover and save up for Samsung Bluetooth cover case......it is $150!!!!!!!! It hooks into the Tab S and has a hinge so that it looks kind of like a laptop. I need to pay some bills first, but I definitely plan on getting it.

I bought the 32gb model and love it as you said the screen is super! I bought the Samsung book cover and have since returned it, did not protect the sides and had an awkward folding setup. If you plan on using it on a desk might be good but I bought a Poetic for about a 1/3rd of the Samsung and love it.
I have rooted mine, use Nova launcher and aside from occasional reboots I have debloated it and waiting for some ROM's.:thrasher:

I had the 32 gig model for a week and it died. Nothing would work. I had to send it to Samsung to be repaired. I would have returned it to the store, but it had all my info on it, so I had not choice but send it in. Samsung was really good about handling it though, paid for shipping both ways and got it back to me in about a week and a half.

It it excellent for watching movies with the AMOLED screen. The bezels on the side are too thin in my opinion for typing as you end up touching the side of the screen and messing up the writing.

I also have a Note 10.1 2014 and you can tell a difference in screen size even though they are very close. I love how thin and light the tablet is compared to the note.

I haven't had good luck with either tablet as both had to be sent in for repair. My Note 2 phone has been perfect though.

I have the Samsung snap cover, but I don't like it and am thinking about getting something else. Just feels like cheap junk compared to the leather case for my iPad air and the cover for my Note 10.1.

if you guys can afford the samsung bluetooth keyboard designed for the tab s.....i suggest you do so. it comes at a hefty price of $149!!!!!!! it is so worth it. it acts as a case when closed, protecting the screen. it is super light and thin like the tablet itself. when docked it looks like a very cool netbook. it has a locking mechanism that holds the tablet and keyboard together without any worries that they will come apart.

so no case for me......i just use a generic tablet sleeve to carry it and i'm good.

i just bought the samsung otg micro usb to usb to use with my flash drive and i bought the samsung s mouse to complete my laptop conversion.....lol

and i orginally bought the 16g......i'm taking this one back so that i can get the 32g....i went cheap, but since i bought all the accesories, i thought what the hell.....LOL

So now released in India - any comments about pro's and con's, issues etc?

EDIT: I forgot to say we had this Tab S for several months before the below started.

We have had a recurring problem on my wife's Tab S. We have sent it to Support 3 times and the problem returns. After some use, the screen starts to Flash (almost strobe) on and off. Very annoying!! All our phones are Samsung and so is our other smaller Tab.

I think support only does a Factory Reset and says they didn't see the problem. They won't replace the Tab because they only made one repair instead of the 2 they need. I said, if nothing's wrong with it, keep that GOOD Tab and send us another one. I'm losing faith in Samsung. It's in route to them for the 3rd time.

This time I uploaded a video of the problem (they never see) and I sent a DVD with the video with the Tab that they probably won't view.

I would buy a different Tab at this point if I had to do it all over again. It was a gift to my wife and all I get is complaints. It's not a virus by the way, I have done my own Factory resets and it comes back after normal use and not downloading anything that no different than what's on my other Samsung devices. :(

the update killed comcast live and farmville 2 on my wifes tablet the day after she bought it, also netflix picture is horrendous...that being said everything else is amazing but she uses those 3 appz daily so she is wrestling with waiting for fixes or going back to an ipad, typically does anyone know how long the fixes take to come out????? and do they always fix things?? this seems to be related to this model and maybe a hardware flaw?

(FYI: This is my first post of anykind so please excuse any..... "abnormalities" LOL)
I got the Best Buy 32GB TabS 10.5 in January. Loved everything (sans all the Bloatware)...... BUT about 12 hrs ago it just STOPPED! No "screen" or responce at all! (It's why I'm HERE now.... trying to research this)
Plugged into verified good outlet, even with OEM charger & cable. Tried plugged and unplugged with several diff cables/chargers, plus battery was pretty full when this happened......
In short: the simple "not charged" possibility has been virtually eliminated as "the problem"...... but I know the "simple questions" must be asked first.
Something "happened". The Samsung "Live Chat Guy" said it needs to be sent in to be "serviced". Should be covered under warranty (no ROOTING or anything)
Short Story LOOONG... Is there anykind of "alternate power up" button sequence "re-boot" type of thing that may "UNFREEZE" this thing? I know I've seen something like that several times while looking other things up. (or do I really need to send it in?)
Really sorry for the "LENGTH" here but I know being specific is important in troubleshooting. MUCH appreciate any info, ideas or experience from anybody on this...... or even a point in the right direction if this is "wrong place".
