Thinking about rooting but...

The thread I am looking at on XDA tells you to download asroot from here http://zenthought.org/tmp/asroot2 Am I missing something? There is nothing there to download. I just see a bunch of code on a blank page. The instructions also seem to differ from the ones on overclockers. What is the best way to go if I want to root on Mac and flash a 2.1 ROM?

Right-click on the link and select "save link as"

Already tried that. It just saves it as a .txt document and only opens with a text editor.

Ok, got it from another site. Shows up as a linux executable file. I guess thats good?

Doesn't matter how Windows interprets it. Windows isn't familiar with proprietary applications.
