LG G3 Accessories Thread

Yeah, seller was great with communication and refund. No re-stocking fee for me, since they had stocking issues anyway. Refund processed almost immediately.

Thing is, for those of you that wanted a non-Verizon branded cover, they have it for a really good price ($27.94 shipped is practically a steal...keep in mind tax, for those of you in CA, like myself):

How well is the phone charging w/this cover,as far as difference in time vs USB charging?
Also, any significant amount of heat generated?

Haven't really done any comparison tests, but it charges well enough. Much like the Note 3, I doubt it's close to USB charging.

As for heat, seems to be way less than the Note 3 (when charging with screen on). The Note 3 doesn't generate that much heat, when charging with the screen on standby, but the G3 is definitely less.

All this talk about mounts, and no one mentioned Mountek?
http://www.mountek.com/
Love having the mount in my CD Player. It stays locked in and doesn't budge. Great mount.

I understand in some cars it might block some controls to the point where it's a dealbreaker for some.

Yeah my dash is pretty compact. The mountek would not work for me. I had to go vent mount ($4 buck version).

Mountek is a very nice option for car mounts. Not necessarily an "ideal" mount for everyone, but for those that don't use their CD or DVD drive often, it's definitely a great one to consider (or if your vehicle has big enough crevices to use, instead of a cd/dvd drive). Mountek has increased their offerings, since first coming out. The Snap 2 looks pretty cool, considering it has a Garmin ball joint connector (which means, one could add on a Qi charging dock, if that was preferred, or another type of dock). This is definitely a "less expensive" way to go, as compared to ProClip. There is just something about the sturdiness of the ProClip base that I prefer over any other products I've tried (and I've tried a ton of them). Here's the direct link, for those of you still wanting to use a Qi Charging mount, but don't want to mount on the windshield or on the vent or use a ProClip (specific to your vehicle). http://www.mountek.com/shop/categor...i-use-car-mount-smartphones-and-mini-tablets/

My personal preference are "dock and go" options. The reason I loved the idea of the Qi Charging dock was because it allowed me the ability to dock and go, without needing to also plug in a charger. That way, if I needed to use the NAV, then I wouldn't have to worry about heavy draining on the phone and wouldn't need to bother plugging in a charger.

I'm not a big fan personally of bulky cases and I do baby my phones. But I can't go without a case and that really bugs me cause I want to be able to see my new shiny toy LOL! So I have these cases being delivered today. So anxious to see how they look and feel on the phone in person. I do have the white phone so the gray versus black case will be interesting to see which one I like better.

Defenders are *great* cases.

I already have the Spigen Slim Armor. I wasn't sure if there would even be an Otterbox for this phone. I always go with a Slim Armor when there's no Otterbox, but it looks like this time I jumped the gun. Now I will own both. Not selling the Slim Armor. I like it too much, and I like having choices. Besides, cases are VERY hard to sell UNLESS it's an Otterbox or Lifeproof.

I have the top one in but frost/black. I'd rather use it without any case and not have any added bulk (not that this is bulky), but playing it safe.

Please let us know the difference between those 2. They do many the top style in the colors of the bottom one. I'm wondering if the materials are different. They use different working in the listing, so maybe.

It's a pretty nice case. Gives me some more grip, a nice lip to rest the phone on it's face safely and still can see the phone through the back, though I'd probably prefer clear over frost.

Will do. The Spigen case with the clear back was the one I wanted too...but that looks jacked up with the antenna cut out for the Korean model...I don't want that noise LOL! It was hard to rule it out though and I should have gotten it but that cutout would have driven me crazy so I figured I'd save the 12 bucks.

I like the look of the bottom one for sure...but wanted more color options. I'll let you know if I like it.

I just got an awesome car charger from Amazon:
Amazon.com: Saicoo™ 8A/40W 4 USB High output Ports Car Charger(83CM Cable Length), with separated ON/OFF Switch /LED indicator and one Silicone Paste and Velcro, Charger for iPhone 5S, 5C, 5, 4S, 4; iPads and iPods; Samsung Galaxy S5, S4, S3, S

But, I'm considering putting the 4 port charger in another car, to switch to this 4 port coming in September (Geeking out):

Only thing that sucks for me is that my car port doesn't quite have that much room.

Spigens are still excellent cases. That's why, even with the Otterbox coming, I'm not giving my Slim Armor up! :D

Okay...so the unicorn beetle hybrid case (the gray case with white phone as pictured in my earlier post) is fantastic and my favorite of the two. The other hybrid case (black case with black phone) is really nice too but probably better suited with a black phone as the black bumper and the geometric design produces a bit of a gray hue on the back of the phone. It kind of flows though cause you have black bumper, gray looking frosted back, and then the white of the camera area that is exposed. I will rock them both but would love to see a gray version of the second case for us with the white phones.

Reading the reviews on Amazon, lots of people mentioned the build quality and fit being really nice. They were right on. I'm very impressed with the Supcases!

Are both made of the same materials? The description made the dark one seem like the bummer part might be more rubbery.

I just placed an order for 5 of these black battery door covers with Qi/NFC. I did not get these from the Spain seller. Testing these out. If they work, I'll have some available. If there is interest, I may be able to get white and gold as well if there is enough interest.

Yeah, they feel the same except the thin section of the tpu material around the screen is glossier on the side facing the screen. Almost like a normal glossy tpu case. But there is a ridge on top and on the other side of that ridge is the same matte material on the other case. It's not really noteworthy and I am not sure why it is like that but it looks good. Just glossier on one little section around the screen. I don't even know if a picture would show it. Nice case though and I like the more edgy design of that case. Will make for a good change of pace :)

Not that anyone is paying attention to me anymore in this thread, but if they were, they'd see that I got this! ;)

I got my Defender from ATT, so you got a great score on the price. I've always used a Defender. It seems Otterbox redesigned them (at least for the G3). The clips are on the outside so it's much easier to take it apart the hard case. I love it!
