Root [MetroPCS] [ROM][AROMA] LG Optimus F6 - Dana - Ver.2

INTRO

This is a modified stock ROM for Metro PCS LG Optimus F6. Since this is a stock based rom, it's stable and you can use it as daily driver.

Apps are Zipaligned and Debloated. You can immediately feel the phone is snappy and fast. Most of LG and Metro apps are removed, that will give you close to 1GB of internal space. It's still not enough but hope this will give little more room to users without using Apps to External SD method.

ROM install is done through Aroma Installer so you can choose preferred apps and tweaks during install.

* Older versions don't mean they are bad or unstable. They still work and can be used on daily driver.



INSTALL
** In order to install this ROM, your phone must be rooted and have access to recovery mode.

1. Download the ZIP file then copy it to the external-SD card.

2. Go to CWM

3. Make backup of your current working ROM, if you haven't done so.

4. Wipe Data / Factory Reset

5. Wipe Cache Partition

6. Advanced -> Wipe Dalvik Cache

7. Mount and Storage -> format /System

8. Mount and Storage -> format /Cache

9. Mount and Storage -> format /Data

10. Mount and Storage -> format /data and /data/media

11. Install Zip -> Choose Zip from /external_sd

12. Find out F6_Dana_.zip file -> Yes. Install

13. Aroma installer will start. Follow the step by step guide.

14. If you see any error during installation DO NOT RESTART the phone (uncheck the checkbox at the end). Just exit to recovery mode then use Restore using pre-made Nandroid backup from step #3.

15. If install success, restart the phone.

16. First reboot will take longer than usual. If you see MetroPCS logo, give it couple of minutes. If you see LG logo, it's boot stuck. Do the download mode and restore it using KDZ flashing method.

16. Once it boots, set up your account & test all functions.

It has the original F6 tether app and i quickly tested it and it worked.

I just turned it on, set the password then changed Chrom's user agent to Iphone S4 and navigated League of Legends web sites.. it was just a 30 seconds quick test but tether worked.

Dont break his efforts man, he wanted to do do a rom on his own and he did, maybe theyre people with stock that wamma keep stock 4.1.2, plus it takes away GT's monopoly on 4.1.2 LOL jk GT but more options is always better

I am not breaking anything and who am I to tell him what to do?

It just seems logical to me to work on more advanced OS if it is available.

On the other hand I'd like to know whether my Isis guide works on this ROM, so it's all good.

Gonna get my F6 #3 soon after another MetroPCS firesale where they were selling it for $69.

That will be my test unit for this ROM

In all seriousness, Bard just hopped on the F6 train. It's nice to see he put together a ROM for what our devices are officially supported with.

Until there's either an official KK build, or there's more devs to build on the KK kernel and ROM, it's a fair decision to build on the official 4.1.2 for stability and support for all devices (as some F6s have different parts)

You really need to learn what stock is.... There is nothing to test Isis wise. :banghead:

For those of us using twrp, do we need to do the "format part"

Using twrp you want to select advanced wipe and wipe everything but the external sd card. Just remember to transfer everything you want to keep to you sd card and do a backup before you wipe

Third party apps don't seem to be working for booting into recovery with this Rom. The two methods I have found are booting into recovery from power off, and using gravitybox to enable advanced reboot menu
