Root [Boost Mobile] Working ROMS/MODS/KERNELS/MODEMS/ECT for the Boost S3

Been a few days since I posted anything. I'm still alive just given my particular situation I simply can't play with stuff nearly as much as I used to.
I've also had my eye on the lg g3 phone. A guy at work has one so I got to mess with it a bit. I really do like that phone so I may be switching to that, just not right away because the cheapest they have is $99 so I'm kinda holding out for the "free" version or cheaper version ie: $25. Until then I'll be on this s3 for now.

Been running wicked x 8.0 since dropped. Running well.

Had slimkat before that. Ran well also for a few weeks.

I havent tried the newest Wicked-X but i've read it's running great.

I know a few people who've went with the G3 and they love it. LG has really started advertising it on TV now too. It looks like a bad @ss phone. I'll be staying with my S3 for sometime to come. I can't see paying the prices they want for the new top of the line phones. The prices they are asking are INSANE and I'm not signing any contract. No siree buddy. I've had contracts with both Sprint and AT&T and I'm not going down that road again.

Me and my S3 are gonna be buddies for awhile LOL. It does everything I need a phone to do. Thankfully we have some great ROMs available which allow our S3 to access its full potential. :D:thumbup:

What Carrier has the $99 deal?

Maybe it's just me but... These asop roms have been giving me the blues I'd stay away for a while I'm going to try wicked x again I'm on conquest now LS is too unstable it wiped all my messages and calls a couple of times made me loose a couple app backups from titanium and wiped a couple of apps completely and if you let the battery die all the way plug your phone in and turn it on I guarantee it'll deselect your default launcher and mess up your layout and start lagging and once you check some of your apps I guarantee you lost data

Happen to me on LS and Omni rom
No matter how many times I reinstalled it or downloaded the newest version issues always came back even started telling me the wrong battery level
My phone battery was on 42% for like a half and hour then finally drained to 41%and just turned off at this point then when I got it to turn back on it kept rebooting because the screen kept freezing

I'd just stay away from them I know a nightly is a nightly but they're unusable in my opinion you'll notice issues maybe after 2 days no matter what you do

I was discussing the battery issue with Moonknightus last week and we both agree wiping the batterystats.bin is a necessary procedure sometimes. There are people who say wiping the batterystats.bin doesn't do anything and not to do it. I'm am here to say that is utter bull crap. Sometimes the only way to get the battery icon to register correctly is to wipe the batterystats.bin. Especially if you have an extended battery and swap it out occasionally with a stock battery.

You can take this info to the bank. :)

Edit:

This info applies to both TouchWiz and AOSP ROMs.

Edit:

In case any of you are looking for the batterystats.bin, it's under data/system/batterystats.bin. I figured I'd post the path because it's a little hard to locate if you've never seen it or wiped it. ;)

I know it works I've done it before and it has fixed some of my issues especially because I use a battery case.

So I thought about this too but when I was on Omni rom there's actually a features that allows you to delete the battery stats from the battery section of the Rom and it still was telling me the wrong percentage I think our phone are ment to drain to a certain level and turn itself off and this prevents data loss and other issues and on asop roms I've noticed it'll drain to death lol my battery said 14% and I was playing a game the screen started flickering and then just died I plugged it in and turned it on and it was in 0% so that's probably the issue they took out some build prop that relates to the battery

I know this doesn't really pertain to topic but I'm not sure where to put it so I'll ask here. If it needs moved please do so and I appologize ahead of time.

Having an issue with backing up to the sd card. I can't seem to backup stuff to the sd card now like before. My guess it's something to do with the new kk and sd card. I remember seeing something about it saying kk handles the sd card different now and there was a possible fix, but I think you had to be rooted. Any ideas what's going on? I can delete from the sd card but when I like try to move stuff from internal to sd using efile or somthing it gives me that message.

Is there a fix I'm missing that I need?

Philz recovery should take care of that for you.

UPDATE

I've found a boot animation that I really like and wanted to share it with all of you. I hope you like it. :) I'll be adding it to the boot animation section in this thread too.

Reactor boot animation:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/hc8vxgp0p0pdeie/Reactor.zip?dl=0

The default animation needs to be replaced and can be found in system/media. Make sure it is renamed exactly the same as the default animation. I usually make a folder either on my internal or ext sd and place the default animation there in case I want to use it again.

Looks like I'm staying with boost.
Checked tmo and did a credit check and found my qualification is 1/2 the "full" phone price plus sales tax, so for n instance the lg g3 around $600 ($500 something) plus $60 sales tax so that is $300 + $60 up front out of pocket to walk out of the store with an lg g3.

Also checked sprint and their monthly plans have changed drastically, used to be like $65 unlimited now with a two yr contract it's $80 a month.

So there you have it, boost it is for me and my s3 for some time to come.

I wouldn't mind the crappie service because it's cheaper if we got offered more of a selection of newer phones newer phones like the LG g3 or even g flex boost passes up so many opportunities to get better phones... It just doesn't make sense especially when they work so closely with sprint... They just need to combine virgin and boost into one big prepaid carrier and give us the same phones as sprint then everyone wouldn't be so anxious to see if the grass is greener on the other side.

I agree. It would be nice if they didn't charge an arm and a leg for the new phones too. Imagine what Boost would charge for the G3. The S5 is $600.

We just ended going back to TMO yesterday on a family plan that's Less expensive than boost.

I'm using my unlocked i747 so still hanging out in here since everything is d2lte now.

Yeah they would break us down for that phone lol and imagine if they get the note 4 man that's going to be an insane price I would like a note but man think about the cost
The way I see it is if they lowered the price or gave discounts to existing customers depending on how long you've been with boost the bigger discount they would sell a lot more phones and keep customers

Question for anyone. I installed the wicked x 8 ROM on my wife's phone without trouble. I tried to install the pink theme and it's not working. I've cleared cache/dalvic, cache/data/dalvic, clean for new ROM (using philz recovery), and it just won't take. Anyone had this issue and overcame it?

Run wicked x 8. But never tried the pink theme, so really no help I can give.

Ok folks, I think I'm going to root this thing again.
So question............. what's the best stable basic flavor android Rom out there, ie: ls, cm etc, and what build to use.......... or is twiz roms still the best to go with?

Also just a small reminder......I don't have access to a pc to flash via Odin, so can I flash philz via an sd card? I know the roms can be but wasn't sure about philz.
