Help Contacts not syncing.

I have a problem when I add new contacts via my phone, it's not registered onto Gmail server.

However, if i add new contact manually into Gmail's contact and sync, it's updated in my phone.

How do i resolve this issue? Apparently I see many Android users facing this too. Thanks

Might be a stupid question, but do you have Sync Enabled?

From main menu
Settings
Accounts & Sync.

You have two settings.
1. Auto-Sync which can be on or off.
2. Manage Accounts. Your account details, and what parts your actually wish to sync.
ie Contacts, Calander, GMail.

Yup, everything is on Auto-Sync

Yes sir, off and on to manually force sync.

I tried, and it worked for me on my Spica with Android 1.5. In fact, it also got added to right contact group too which was wonderful. can you elaborate the problem?
