The iPhone 6 is finally here, and with it comes a hype that only Apple can produce. Regardless of what features they stole from Android, the iPhone 6 will undoubtedly be a huge success for Apple. In the Android World we also have a device that prints money for its maker: the Samsung Galaxy S5.

The comments on that blog post are sad.

People are still too focused on Hardware specs.

They are missing the forest through the trees.

I'm starting to wonder if a lot of Android users even value Quality of User Experience.

And of course the "Vendor Wars," which ultimately ends up making all the Android handsets look bad because they're all trying to make their favorite OEM's/devices look good.

Meh.....I'm not that rich. I'll stick with the Oppo Find 7a.

I don't buy Apple, and I don't buy Gucci or Prada either.

I'm not that rich, but I own a Gucci watch ... and a Movado and a Raymond Weil. I will pay for style as long as it's real and not the emperor's new clothes.

FWIW, I think the iPhone 6 (and the plus-size version) are naked. ;)

Actually I do have a nice watch myself, a Rado Ceramica. Bought in the UK about 10 years ago, and still looks pristine, synthetic sapphire, "Swiss made", etc. I tend to be concious about wearing it in semi-rural China though, because it does attract attention from the affluent brand-whore types, and questions like "Is that a real one?"......"Yes, this is where your English lesson fees go!"

EDIT:

I just checked out of curiosity...they still make it 10 years on...

20,000 yuan CNY though......that's just over $3,000....OK.

You mean like attaching files to emails?

You mean like this?...
How to Attach Files to an Email From the iPhone | eHow

"Tips & Warnings:
The iPhone Email application automatically reduces the dimensions of attached image files to 640x480 resolution."

...cheers Apple.

Last month I had to email some important scanned medical report documents off as part of getting my Foreign Expert Certificate and my Resident Permit, if they were downscaled to 640x480 VGA resolution by the iOS email app, they wouldn't have been readable, and that would have been a serious problem for me. ...so much for "Quality of User Experience".

Myself, i'd already had enough of using iTunes on Windows previously, not doing that again.

I've come to the conclusion over the years that Apple writes terrible Windows software and Microsoft writes terrible Mac software. Could be deliberate for all I know.

You mean like attaching files to emails?

Mobile Payments with more industry support at Launch than Google got since 2011, is a good start. No carrier shenanigans there, I see.

You can attach files to emails in iOS, and they have all the best 3rd party email clients (or got them first) anyways. You forget they're getting iCloud Drive with a File Picker in iOS 8?

You're gonna need a new dig, soon.

Very soon...

iCloud? ...how quick can you say "Class action lawsuit" :D

...if you're a celeb just be careful what you do with your pics.

I don't know what this has to do with attaching files to emails in iOS 8?

You can also access other cloud storage Services, like OneDrive, DropBox and Box directly from the File Picker - similar to the Storage Access Framework in Android. Google Drive will probably be there soon, since they seem to focus heavily on making sure iOS users get a first class experience with their services.

What now? You're going to switch the subject to something else unrelated?

In any case, this isn't about how good iOS is or is getting.

My original point (which the poster upthread replied to) had everything to do with people commenting under that blog post remaining stuck in a 2011 mindset, fighting about the best android phone while bashing basically all of them, and not realizing that the market has started focusing on something different than comparison tables of smartphone specs.

Bashing the iPhone won't make Google Wallet a better Mobile Payment system than Apple Pay, for example.

I always said NFC payments won't take off (at least in the US) until the iPhone gets it. Don't know much about Apple Pay, but hoping it can IMPROVE Google Wallet capabilities. Even then, we still have carriers to fight over it.

I just seen a friend spending all afternoon trying to download an iTunes update from Apple, keeps on failing. Usually OK for downloading from Apple in China, shouldn't be blocked or censored. Presumably this is an update for the iPhone 6.

Apples servers have been swamped due to the announcement. Happens every year when they announce something and then have new updates to download from their website.

My Note 3 still can't use Tap to Pay (Hardware issue that hasn't been rectified, still?), and it isn't just about NFC payments, it's also about integration in eCommerce sites and apps. They're already ahead, and the thing hasn't even launched yet.

Yes, it's frustrating.

I will be able to add my Wallet card to iTunes and use it just fine on those iPhones, though. How ironic.

I love using Wallet, really wish more places had NFC readers. It's so nice to leave my real wallet in the car and just whip in with my phone.

My cc is linked to Google, I use my cc for almost everything so why not use Wallet when it's available? You get a notification right away, I like that. Besides, it's just fun.

I do think that if more places offered it it would be more widely used.
