Root [CDMA] Moto G Stock 4.4.4 and 5.1 Soak Tests {Boost Mobile}

Ok just fyi if anyone runs into anything similar.. I could swear I updated the partition before flashing the update.. updated prl and that once loading, then went back to custom Rom.. come to find out sms didn't work.. Not even after reflashing stock.. after lots of fiddling/reflashing I did a wipe, flashed part update, flashed stock then part update again.. all is well.. Not sure what went wrong the first time but figure I'd save someone a headache :)

This is what I get and I downloaded the Rom again to be safe on high speed WiFi. I'm trying to get a stock Rom to reactivate my phone

I would try using a different recovery (i use cwm swipe 6.0.4.7 from this page), check the md5 of your download against the md5 listed on the download page to be sure it is not corrupt, download it again, or try flashing it from the internal sdcard instead of OTG.

I uses twrp 2.7 falcon version and work good.
Also on unmodified 4.4.2 (ver175). Was able to pull ota zip from other device and was able to update thru twrp .
Also all superR zip works perfectly with twrp 2.7.0.0 flacon.

That error is from either bad download or need to reboot to recovery after updating partition tables

Cause stock doesn't offer as much as custom roms, that should've been obvious to you... And the screenshots were for Kmac490... Gummy runs sweet as hell, no problems whatsoever and everything works unlike CM...

Not sure if you are aware, but the Xposed Framework module GravityBox offers nearly all of the extra features you find in these custom roms and runs perfectly on stock ;)

I know all that and agree too, but curiosity was , why you need to take official 4.4.4 then go to custom. You can just flash custom recovery and flash these custom ROM.
By the way my till date favorite is gummy .

Reinstalling stock ROM can before installing another custom ROM can help things in your new custom ROM work properly. One of these things is GPS. Think of it like recalibrating your phone. Your GPS may not pick up your location accurately after installing custom ROM after custom ROM. If you reinstall stock, turn on GPS and let it pick up your location, then install your custom ROM your GPS will then work properly. It can also keep you from having other problems with a ROM that others may not have because they had stock installed before installing custom. A lot of problems people have with custom ROMs could be solved by doing this.

factory reset before or after i flash the rom?

After you select ART, do a factory reset in recovery (twrp)

Trying to flash your rom/update and I get this error.

"E: Error executing updater binary in zip "/data/m" and it goes off screen here. "

This is the first time I've ever encountered this problem in my years of flashing stuff.
Mostly either bad download or you didn't updated partition tables.
