Root Updates, being rooted, and removing the notification?

Does anyone know how to get rid of the update notice? I don't want to update - but the notice is sitting there...staring at me...telling me to push it...go ahead - make your life hell...push the update...take it...loose root. (Okay - so I'm just trying to ad a little humor to it). But really...any way to get rid of the update? By the way - I tried pushing the 'clear' notice button - that didn't work. :(

It says I've already downloaded the update...can I go find it somewhere and delete it?

Thanks!

Update on the update issue:

I used Rom Toolbox Pro to freeze these 2 apps

Software Update
Update Center

After doing that I restarted my phone. when it botted back up, the notification was there momentarily and then vanished.

Thanks for this nickabbasi1...I froze them and the update message is no longer showing on the top tray - but it is there when I 'pull' down the notifications. :(

Anyone know specifically where I would delete this file? It would appear my phone already downloaded it - just waiting for me to say 'okay' of which I have no intention of doing at this point. :)

For anyone who still cares:

Even after freezing App Updates, Update Center, and Software update and deleting the update file itself, I was still getting the notification about the update.

I found that if I went into Google Play Services < manage space and then clicked "clear all data" the notification appears to finally be gone for good

Worked like a charm for me... Thank you.

Edit: Spoke too soon... It re-downloaded the update & then started nagging me to install update again... Sure you don't have some other apps frozen that I don't?

I simply just long pressed on the notification
and unchecked "show notifications " and
its gone, not sure how long tho.
