FM Radio like the HTC FM radio

as far as i can tell local channels are still played through the internet not over-the-air on that (unless i'm missing something)

this is what you want (though no idea if it works with your device or not):

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mikersmicros.fm_unlock&hl=en

not cheap, but real over-the-air radio

though i would recommend downloading the basic free version from xda to make sure it works first:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=13385163

it works with my HTC evo V even though not on the supported list, so yours may be the same

For FM radio, you do need the hardware there. An app cant become a transistor radio :)

Exactly.. LOL

If the phone actually has an FM radio in it, then the manufacturer's radio app will be there.

According to this...
http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/AndroidPort
"FM Radio: Not yet implemented. There's no API for this, seems to be something the manufacturers add onto their OS (without opening the source)"

There's plenty of radio apps on Play that say "FM Radio", but they're all internet radios, they stream from the internet.

Does the Motion have the hardware for an fm radio? If it doesn't then no app will give you this.

(Tunein is purely internet radio BTW).

My phone have a built-in radio, which was working fine, but after rooting it, I installed a custom ROM, CyanogenMod, it doesn't have any app that can play the radio without internet. Is there any app/way so I can play FM Radio?

Spirit FM is about the only one. Intended for rooted devices and custom ROMs, where the device does have an FM radio in it. CM doesn't include a radio app, and this is what Spirit FM is for, and does support certain devices.

Any other app? :)
Spirit doesn't support my phone :)
I'm sure Spirit is the only one. I originally found it on XDA. And it does only support certain phones, mostly Samsungs I think. Thing is each manufacturer implements their radios in the own ways, and there's no standard API or hooks in Android for FM radio apps.
