What Have I Done

So are you saying I shoudlnt exchange the Incredible for Droid??? The Inc has terrible battery life and not so great call quality. Ive heard good things about the Moto Droid.
you will be making a lateral move if you switch for sound quality and battery life. These phones have terrible sound quality and if you are dissatisfied with the battery life on the Inc, the Droid NOT any better. I start using my phone around 10 every morning and by five its dead and on the charger. The INC is a faster phone...just keep it...not to mention it has 6 app screens to our 3

EDIT: just to interject, the phone is too badass to get rid of because of sound quality, if you do like I do and get a good set of headphones that plug in, sound quality will no longer be an issue

*IF* you are interested in Rooting.. go with the Droid. You can outpace the Incredible plus get better battery life if things are done right. My Droid's battery lasts through a full day and into the night no problem with above medium usage.

Plus all the features of the Incredible(well sorta- the Sense UI is midway through a successful port), can be had on the Droid(and lots more) by rooting. Of course I hear rumors that the Incredible may already be rooted, but sans physical keyboard and a highly overclockable processor like the Droid, your options will be slightly limited.

Did you just say that the phone's sound quality is not important? It's a phone...I'd say you are dead wrong!

The OP is not talking about audio playback. While the droid is not the best phone I have ever used in regards to phone call sound quality (slight echo at times), I imagine it is much better than most of the initial reports from Incredible users.

My opinion is that the Incredible is incredibly overrated. The available RAM is a really nice feature, but this version of the Snapdragon processor is not very overclock friendly, and my Droid runs great at 1.2GHz...while maintaining better battery life. The Droid will have flash before the Incredible and the Flash Lite that the incredible has is junk. You are better off using the Droid with the Skyfire Browser.

Full plastic design...poor call quality...poor battery life...what a great device! It's the Nexus one with a uglier design and more RAM.

Droid call quality has been great for me, as good or better than any other phone I've had, been very happy about that.

I'd wait at least two weeks before considering a swap...you really need to give the new phone a chance. There have been posts about poor call quality on the Incredible forum, but then again I've seen the same here so it's hard to say that one is better than the other...

i have to say your throughts on the droid battery life are dead wrong. i run mine at 900mhz and still get 16-24 hours battery life. now thats with regular use. if you are streaming internet radio then yes 4-5 hours constant will be all you get but thats hardly a reason to call the battery life crappy. don't spread rumor and lies.

+1. I'm starting to believe the Incredible is ... well ... just Credible. ;)

EDIT: Also, call quality on Droid is as good as any other cell phone I've used. Never dropped a call once.

WOW! All this hate for the HTC Droid Incredible in this thread. I have two lines and I carry a Motorola Droid and an HTC Droid Incredible. I can honestly say the only advantage (to some) is the physical keyboard and the fact that it's mostly metal construction. But the Incredible beats the Droid in every other respect.

Well, the battery might be an issue but try swapping for another incredible if the call quality is bad first. It may be hardware. After that, try the Droid. I get great quality, but other people not so much.

You also may be in an area that does not get good voice reception for Verizon. While that is less likely than other carriers, it does happen. In that case you pretty much have to start over with your selection for your next phone. It should be a phone first, otherwise don't bother buying a smartphone, get a netbook/iPad/whatever.

Battery life is PER USER! Its not standard, I am like the user you quoted, I get 6-8 hrs of battery, period! we need to dispell the rumor that people can get a week of battery life. It seems only certain phones do good.

ps the battery will get better on the incredible with conditioning just like the droid.

I would also add that if you can't get by with one battery, get another one. Heck, I even bought 2 extras and carry them with me everyday. Therefore, I can proudly say that I have no issues at all with battery life... hehehe.

I am always either streaming Rhapsody, DroidLive, Slacker, or running MP3s with TuneWiki. I also have some long-winded phone calls and on some days go through 2 fully charged standard batteries and have started on my 3rd before I make it home (those are 12-hour days in the field, by the way).
