This black silicon case is just too 'shiny' for my taste. Has anyone seen a black version of that other silicon case on the VZW site?

Verizon black and red silicone cases are the bomb! perfect fit, camera lens protection, great shock protection. i got the black one and it looks perfect. it is as clean and low key as possible.

I got that same reply even a week before it was released so I'm not sure how true it is but hey always can hope for it huh

Just sent them another request as well. One thing that I got to reply back to them and everyone should as well is that they should include a model for the extended battery as well as many people will be getting with the new door possibly.

I've done my homework (not just here in androidforums) and it seems to be the overwhelming opinion that otterbox cases are the best. I'm not saying there aren't some other opinions out there, but most people are saying otterbox is the best.

I just used the link provided in the post I quoted and I suggest everyone follow suit.

I requested that they produce Commuter/Defender Case for Extended and Non Extended Batterys for the Droid Incredible, and followed it up by describing the immense interest shown in these forums and in others as well. I also mentioned that I would be purchasing one and recommending them to my friends too.

So these Otterbox cases come with a screen shield as well as the case? Can you buy them in store or only online? I am getting the verizon silicone case and would hopefully be able to compare the two in person before I buy a 2nd one.

A little birdy at Verizon told me. I am hoping she is right. I love the phone..just want a little more charge. I was ready to order the 1750 MAH battery from Seido until I spoke with VZW-with my corporate discount the 2150 MAH should be the same price or a little cheaper than the Seidol

It's listed as coming with a different battery back, so, yes.

Where did you hear it wouldn't? The one VZW is coming out with is adjustable to fit different thickness.

Well, I have the OEM holster/mount and it only fits the phone without a case. See?

I guess you could force it in there w/ the silicon or hard case, but I wouldn't feel confident in it staying put. Is there maybe another OEM in the works?

Yes, they come with a screen protector. It sounds like they're the static (non-wet application) type of screen protector from the descriptions on the otterbox site, but I haven't personally used them.

I have never looked for them in stores, but the 1st result of a google search for "otterbox walmart" is this Walmart.com: Otterbox 60-2197-05 Defender Series Skin Case For iPhone 3G - Black: Cell Phones, so it appears that at least some type of otterbox may be available at some store.

If you pull up pictures of the otterbox case for the Eris, it appears that the case is shorter than the verizon silicone case (doesn't rise past the screen as far). Hopefully this would allow better access to the optical trackpad.

All this is speculation and hoping until otterbox commits to making a case for the Droid Inc, and releases it. So tell them you want them to make one!

I like the idea of the Otterbox but it seems for many of the other HTCs they don't make the matching holster. I am losing my mind without a holster and may break down and pick up the one VZ is selling but I don't really care for it. Just paranoid im going o drop it and im not risking a pocket.

I haven't done much looking for cases with belt clips, so I can't really do much comparing, but this one is really great for the Eris.

It's a hard rubber and the texture + ridges give it excellent grip. Also, it seems to have the upper hand on a lot of other clips b/c it just slides in and out with some sort of side-pressure-clip. In other words, there isn't a release system that you have to press as you try to pull it out (like the verizon clip that is currently available for the Incredible). It isn't loose enough that it would be jolted out but it slides out perfectly with a little pressure.

Also, the ridged case lies flush with the screen which may be appealing to some ppl.

EDIT: One more thing. They made one for both the Eris and the Incredible, so I am betting one is in the works for the Incredible too.

EDIT: I also just noticed that on page 3 or 4 of this thread, someone mentions that otterbox has confirmed that they're producing Droid Incredible cases, so ignore my posts telling you to send them messages lol.

It very likely won't, and that stinks. Which one of the reasons I ordered the Seido battery. I don't feel like dropping another $20-$30 for another case on top of the price for the new battery... :-/

Looking at my holster/case combo from Verizon, I think if they just extend the battery portion of the back I can dremel that part out of the case. Since the phone faces inward in the holster it wont affect that. The case is stiff enough that I think it will be okay.

I already bought a BodyGlove. If there's a comparable case for the extended battery thickness then I'll return the BodyGlove and get the extended battery + new case.

Of course, I'm not one of those people who are having issues with battery life so maybe I should think on this.

I don't think Verizon has really ever sold a case to fit an extended battery, correct me if I'm wrong since I haven't been around forever but I don't think this will be any different.

That sounds awesome. I got the Verizon silicone case tonight and think that one's great, but would love to check out the Otterbox as well. Thanks for the info!

Im using the black silicone verizon case and love it. Not sticky, fits it perfectly, and add just the right amount of bulk to the incredible.

Id also like to give a huge two thumbs up the phantom skinz. I just got in my screen protectors today and they are awesome. No orange peel that I can see and smooth as hell. It actually makes the screen slightly slicker in my opinion. This is a good thing. Your finger will glide over easier. Also it was less than $8 shipped for two protectors.

hmm...that's a good idea! I have an extra powersupport one laying around and I can't wait to take off the stock screen protector because of the writing on it. does it cover a majority of the screen?
