Help Lock Screen Music Widget

Hey everyone. First post here.

I have a 1337m Galaxy S4 and have it with android 4.3 and with a small carrier

When I first got it, I was able to see the stock music player widget controls(not google play music) on the lock screen when music was playing

I put a pattern lock on it, and for a while the music control widget worked on the lockscreen just fine. But then I wanted to see what happens if I forced the lockscreen to make me enter my pin number. So I got the pattern wrong about 5 times and entered my pin. It reset security in the lockscreen section of settings from "Pattern" to "Swipe". I had went and set in a pattern lock again. Ever since I got my pattern wrong the music controls widget never worked again while I had any security lock on my lockscreen.

And just the other day I seen my friend with the exact same phone(same carrier, same android, same phone) have a pattern lock with the music widget working.

I have already tried to factory reset my phone once and it did not work.

Other apps like google play music and amazon music both have music control widgets on a pattern locked lock screen with my phone when they are playing music. So it is only the stock music player which does not work.

ok so i restored factory defaults again today

the music widget didn't even show up on the refreshed NO SECURITY lock screen when music was playing

i had to add it manually in the settings. keep in mind i did back up my call logs, texts, and wallpaper from samsung account

and the "multiple widgets" option is disabled when a security unlock is selected. effectively disabling the lock screen widget.

i'm beginning to think that my music app may be damaged or something? help would be appreciated

Go to your app manager and find the music player your referring to. Select the app and in there clear cache and clear data out.

I have an idea. Give me a few first. Need to test my theory before suggesting it

First set up the lock screen without the pin or lock turned on.
Meaning have the widget for lock screens active and and apps on lock enabled.

Try using the music app like that first, without the lock set up.

Then reboot the phone.

Once restarted, try the music app again.

If it is still working then go and set the pin or lock of your choice.

Once that's done, try the music app again.
