Keypad does not popup on Jelly Bean

A

Android Question

I have a
Jelly Bean Android

Polaris-eng 4.2.2 8089 20140106 Tablet

I am getting a message that the process.android.process.acore has stopped.

I have tried all the ways of resetting, and finally decided to do a "Factory data reset", but found that the keypad does not popup so I cannot enter my PIN to proceed.

Is there any way of resetting this Android externally.

I have saved all the data I want so the Android canbe fully wiped and reset if that is possible.

Any help appreciated

I'm having a hard time finding it, but what you should try to find is recovery mode. It's normally done by holding things like the volume down and turning the divice on.

Try searching using the full modle name and that might get you closer than where I was able to get.

Hi

Thank you for the response.

I can get into recovery mode OK but when I get there and select to wipe and reset I cannot change the NO command to YES because the keyboard does not pop up. Is there any way to toggle between NO and YES without a keyboard ?

You could try the volume buttons to go between selections (YES/NO), then press the power button for 'OK'

Hi,
Tried that, the vol takes me up and down, but I have tried all sorts of combinations to get it to toggle.

The problem is that without the keypad I cannot get past the selection.

When in the recovery mode it shows Android sdk reversion:exdroid 4.2.2_r1-a23-v2.0

So I presume that what I need is a copy of exdroid 4.2.2_r1-a23-v2.0 ?? but a google search doe snot find it.

The nearest that I have found is firmware 4.2.2 for a Samsung Galaxy but I presume that there are differences.
