Help Notification troubles

I wish I could set the timeout of the notifications app by app. I don't like that the SiriusXM app has a persistent notification of the song being played. It makes it impossible to read the time at certain times of the day. Any tips on how I can change this behavior short of cutting off that app from sending notifications?

Thanks for that info but it doesn't work for the SiriusXM app. Even if you put it in the list of blocked apps it still has a persistent notification. I tried this several times before making this thread.

Yeah, some stuff just seems to ignore the fact you want to ignore it! PowerAmp, or music in general, is one. I have blocked/added to ignore it and it still shows. I thought maybe somehow it was being fed through Play music so blocked that too. Songs still show up. Oh well.

Yup. I want to block the power amp feed cuz the music box app is way better for control.

Well that settles it, the watch is going back. If I can't read the time half the time then the watch is useless.

I get this, its not enough for me to send watch back but it is a slight frustration. In the shirt term you can slide down and mute notifications whilst the media app is running. Not ideal I know. I'm also going to look into facer and see if a temp digital time can be displayed at top half during these notifications and then revert back to my nice looking analogue face after.

It's not the SiriusXML app per say. It's any app that plays media. It's the phone's media controls that take over, in a similar way that the lockscreen has play/pause/skip functionality. So blocking the app won't sort it.

At present I'd be surprised if there's anyway round it. In future software releases I'm sure they'll come up with something. I'd like to see a transparency setting on the Notifications, crank that down and you'll get a decent view of the watch face at all times.

They should at least allow you to swipe it away until a new song comes on. This is a HUGE oversight. How do you create a WATCH that won't give you the time if you are listening to music.

They probably figured that people would be satisfied with muting the notifications. Of course, that won't satisfy everyone, but should be something for Google to consider in the future, where they could add an option to turn it off in the Android wear app.

I went to Motorola's website to return the device and noticed they cut the return time in half. I wonder if they were getting bombarded with returns. I slid under by 1 day but after submitting the request I haven't heard from them (8 hours later and you are supposed to hear something within 4 hours) and their support seems to be messed up because it hangs up on me every single time. I think I'm going to be stuck with this dumb thing.

You do realize that you can still access the notifications, by swiping up from the bottom, right? That is even when you have them muted.

If I have to touch my watch to see if I have a notification then the watch is pointless as I can just as easily look at my phone's LED light. Both actions will cause me to stop what I'm doing and take off my gloves (or simply stop coding if that is what I am doing) so the watch would be pointless.

I see. Well, in your case, I guess that would make things difficult

Biaviian, I hope you didn't return your 360 already. The new update doesn't force the music interface on top of the watch screen! And they changed the buttons slightly, so that forward/rewind/volume up/volume down are all on the same page.

In order to see the music, just need to swipe up from the bottom of the watch face though.

I had Hawks listed as fav team, but with game tonight, i was getting notification it seemed on every score. I deactivated hawks from google now. I wouldn't mind final score or every 15min update, but every min was too much.

I've been running the Lollipop developer previews for a while (on a Nexus 5), with no Android Wear issues, but now that I've upgraded to "Stock" Lollipop I'm not getting Hangouts or Inbox notifications sent to my Moto360. Other applications sync fine (Google Fit, Weather, Stocks, etc) but Hangouts and Inbox do not work. My phone is also not set into Priority Mode when paired to the watch anymore, like it was on Developer Builds.

Anyone else noticing these issues? Kind of defeats the purpose of the watch if I'm not getting notifications sent to it :/.

Edit: I managed to fix my problem by resetting my Moto360 and uninstalling the Android Wear application. Not sure if that was strictly necessary or not, but it seems to have done the trick, for now at least.
