Galaxy S3 Incorrect Firmware Loaded

A

Android Question

Guest
Hi guys, I hope you can help me.
My S3 I9300T international was flashed with wrong rom and now it keeps rebooting over and over again once the Galaxy screen appears.
I can't hard reset or enter the developer screen?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Paul

Are you saying you can't enter download mode?
If you can then try using Odin to flash a known good full .tar for your particular device.

Thanks very much for the help.
Can you guide me to a tutorial on how to use Odlin with a device that can't enter download mode?
Cheers,
Paul

I wasn't sure if you were able to enter download mode. You said developer mode.
With out download mode I don't think you can be helped. I'll look around, but I'm not hopeful.

Couple of questions.
What version of Android were you on when you flashed the ROM?
Was the flash an update of some sort?

irst you need to determine what model the phone is. This can easily be determine under Settings>about device>Model number

If it says GT-I9300, then you have the international version, if not then google whatever it displays then it will tell you what version you have. depending on which version you have, you will need to go to the respective forum and download a ROM. Install this Rom in recovery mode (this is explained in another thread in Q&A)

It could be that the power button might be stuck. There have been cases of that happening with the S3. Here is a thread which has the same symptoms( phone turning on immediately after inserting the battery.) The solution given there is to "smack the phone on something firm but not hard". Some others have mentioned taking out the battery for 15 mins. Those solutions might be temporary though, you might want to get it repaired or do it yourself.
