No sd slot = bad business decision (IMO)

Why would you not put an sd slot on an Android device- especially this one wit h the specs? People do not usually look for devices with less basic features on a high end device, but might not purchase something if there are basic features missing- like an sd slot.

This is especially ironic since Android L now fully supports SD as part of the framework and card writes are enabled in it.

IMO, this will hurt rather than help sales. Have a device with the specs this has but no sd slot. Stupid move in regards to constraining sales.

Seems to be Motorola's standard formula these days. Along with Sony. If you want a slot you've got to go Korean. It's unfortunate that the Samsung S5 and LG G3 seem to have LTE support that's so specific to particular carriers. And that, for me, is probably a bigger dealbreaker. If the Turbo holds up to what pdadb.net says it will, with near-iPhone levels of interoperability on 4G including the ability to meaningfully switch between VZW and AT&T, I'll probably buy one. I don't want to be tied to a carrier and I don't want to have to go with Apple and their Bluetooth and hotspot lockdown in order to have a phone that's transferrable between carriers.

32 is fine. Sure, more would be better, but just learn to not put everything on the phone.

With more space comes more hording. It's as simple as that.

But Darkestred you dont understand. Trust me, i do. I have 12TB of hdd space on my computer and 76% of it is full. How often do i really bother with the contents of those 8TBs? not often. I just do it cause i can.

Ive kept my razr maxx hd all this time for one reason because of the sd slot, and guess what...I never use it. 32G seems to be more than I need before I clean my phone out anyway. But my guess the real reason behind no slot is for you to purchase space in a cloud and spend more on data! If you look at any disruptive decision like this, its usually about making more money...off YOU!!

There is a such thing as future proofing. I got a Droid DNA when it came out. It only had 16 GB of memory, but I thought that was ok because I hadn't used that much on my old phone. Halfway through my contract, I was already having problems with lack of space. I don't hoard anything. Almost all the space is taken up programs that continue to grow and get updated. I've already removed all the pics, videos, and most of my music.

It seems to me, anybody would want the option to be able to add more memory if needed. 32 GB really isn't that much. You'd be surprised how fast it could go. On top of that, some of us actually do need the space. I'd like to get a 128 GB sd card, fill it up with music, and put it on my phone. Why? Because I ride the Metro and can't always get a signal when I'm commuting to and from work.

Still have my DNA and it seems to be chugging along (as I daily deny the current upgrade that makes the WiFi torch the battery). For those of us that simply don't need that type of space this seems to be an interesting choice. Lacking SD card doesn't scare me off as my 16GB is more than adequate for my uses for work.

And like computers I really don't think you can "future proof" a phone at this time. My DNA is great but as its getting long in tooth I am worried about battery fizzling as its a sealed cabinet.

My DNA gets GREAT reception. As I was looking at the Note4 and Note Edge (paaariceeeeey) I was questioning the radio and told to look at Motorola.

Is the battery removable? I stopped using my NFS wireless charger on my DNA because I didn't want to wear out the battery (heat) due to none-ease of replacement. I dont want to send my phone off and get something else back. I am OCD (diamond producer) about my tech.

Honestly, I think if you can deal with 16 GB, this phone is future proofed for you. The battery is huge. If it gets 48 hours like they claim, I'd guess that even when it fades, the performance would still be comparable to what you're getting now with your DNA.

I think the 64 GB is good enough for me. The 16 was too tight, but quadrupling it should give me a little leeway.

What seems to be a stranger decision is the fact that the 64 GB only comes in one style. Do they believe it won't sell much, so there is no reason to give many options with it?

Hmmm, while I typically throw it in a case making style a bit "useless", being limited in design tends to make me unnecessarily wary of something. I am guessing the red isn't available in 64GB? Because thats the one I would want. LOL!

Yeah, 64GB will be way more than I use giving me a lot of ceiling. However my concern is while not taking a bunch of picture, I do find the DNA camera a tad slow in taking pictures and response to changes. I read somewhere here that the camera shudder is slow.

I'm in the same boat as AV. As long as I have at least 32 GB I dont care if it has an SD card slot

+1, and this one comes with a 64GB variant. Baller! SD Cards are a pain cause different apps do things in different ways.

One camera app saves to SD, other only to internal. One browser downloads to SD, other only to internal.

It all becomes a mess after a while, forcing you to constantly move things over to keep them organized.

Just need to see camera samples (Photos, Video, and Slow Mo).

Are you joking?
No.

But checking to reconfirm.

Black Ballistic Nylon only. Lol. I pass.

Denim like. Same difference. I'm pretty sure my point was crystal clear.

Ballistic nylon was developed for use in flak jackets. I have a Toshiba laptop bag in ballistic nylon. It's 5-6 years old and looks like the day I got it. If anything it won't show smudges or fingerprints, and should be very had to scratch or tear. Just figured I'd throw in my experience with it.

I agree 100%
I'm all about high end phones and for me to spend what I spend, I expect basics like MicroSD to be there, one of many reasons why I don't own an iPhone. I don't mind my tablet not having a MicroSD slot as I mainly use that for Documents, Emails, web browsing and Navigation, but my smartphone is used for everything, from music, movies, taking high quality pics, taking long videos, backing things up etc...

IMO, it's essential. My S3, S4 and now my Note 4 all came with 32GB built-in but I always need more :D lol. Have had a 32GB MicroSD Card in all of them on top of 32GB built-in, and plan on getting either a 64GB or for the right price a 128GB MicroSDXC.

That's fine. I don't want a phone with that on it. Limiting the higher SKU to that is odd, to put it lightly.

I pretty much stopped caring since I seen it was only available with that material.

Gonna wait for more Nexus 6 reviews.
