Hi, I'm currently on stock rom, and I'm very tempted to try out the kk roms. But it appears that camera will not work if it is ov5693. So I just want to make sure mine is not ov5693 before flashing.

How do I verify my camera info in stock rom?

Another thing: it appears that Nexus 7(2013) also uses ov5693. Is it possible to extract some drivers from there?

it is very hard to try to fix this, without having a F6 with the ov5693 camera

here are 2 test for KK and CM11

only test this if you are one of the people that have tried cm11 or KK port and did not have both cameras workihng

this is only updates the kernel and a few files so you need to already be running cm11 or KK

do a backup before installing

Its funny i had a 12b stock firmware phone with kk mini loaded and only the selfy camera was working, in my hand when I got your post notification. I flashed this cam fix straight up, with no wiping. The selfy camera still worked but the back cam still didn't work, with no error message and the selfy camera came back on by itself. I'd of liked to tried more, but the owner had to leave. Thanks Hroark for trying. You are the man.

This is why I made individual links. These for AOKP and cm11 .. You tried to boot a stock ROM without lge modifications in the ramdisk.

So use vol - and power ..hold both buttons when you power on. It will wipe your data but you should get into recovery. Flash a stock based ROM .

Next time.. Please be more careful ;)

how do i confirm that this is the camera i have?

im pretty certain this is the one i have since it doesnt work with anything except stock and stock-based roms.

i am willing to test once i confirm this is my camera.

thanks for your work.

Sure thing. This is only for AOKP and cm11 at the moment ..I have not added a kk port kernel..yet.
I would assume since your can doesn't work that you have the ov5693.

I tested on a clean install to make sure these zips boot and don't break anything.
Let me know how it goes.

anyone with the camera issue want to test for me...

this kernel adds the ov5693 drivers, adds support back into the board aswell.

AOKP: https://www.mediafire.com/?fz9kya6we695ld4

CM11: https://www.mediafire.com/?f5v9m0qac8b2glc

AT LEAST BACK UP THE BOOT PARTITON IN RECOVERY BEFORE FLASHING, IN CASE YOU RUN INTO A NON BOOT KERNEL, IAM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF THIS KILLS YOUR CAT;)

How do I backup up to boot partition, I think I got this camera as well because no kitkat rom works with back cam. As soon as I download and install I will report if it indeed works.

If it still don't work, I don't mind if you were to continue to work on a CM10 rom although it is quite old now. But it would be better than having no back camera on kitkat. Thank you soo much for your hard work.

so i installed the cm11 rom, gapps and the kernel you provided. my phone shows LG screen for a short bit and then goes black permenantly. the led shows the usual "disco" colors but it sits forever and never boots.
Yes, I tested it on CM11 Rom V9 by Angablade and I experience the same problem. Unfortunately, I don't have the AOSP rom to try that version.
